Update: The owner of uBreakiFix reached out about my recent visit. He addressed all of my concerns and is working to make sure this doesn't happen in the future. My situation was kind of unique that they had not run into before so they were unaware on how to proceed. The owner of this company cares about his customers and I would recommend this business for electronic repairs This was my second visit to this store. To say I am frustrated is an understatement. Before bringing my Pixel 9 Pro Fold in for an inside screen replacement, I chatted with Google's support (see attached photos) to see if it was covered under warranty. They had me take photos and send to them to make sure there wasn't any damage that would cause it to not be covered. After reviewing they said that it would be covered even with the scratches on the hinge. I set up an appointment with uBreakiFix as Google recommended. Upon arriving and explaining what was wrong he took my phone in the back and came back saying it wouldn't be covered. I showed him the screenshots from Google and he went in the back again. When he came back out he said that the repair tech has the final say if it is warrantable or not and he said they would not repair it under warranty. I left and called Google, they immediately apologized for my experience and said they would send me a replacement phone free of charge (see attached photos). This is the second time this has happened. I had the original Pixel Fold and the inside screen broke while under warranty. I went through this same process a year ago and they told me the same thing. Google sent me a warranty replacement phone at that time too.

Took in a Nintendo switch for a diagnostic. Had receipt of only that diagnostic. Got a call said okay the repair is done for the charging port. . Was very confused what was going on. Went to pick up our item and they did the repair completely without authorization. The short tech with long hair got an attitude questioning why we didn’t want to pay for the repair? You didn’t even give us an option to have the repair or not. Then since he replaced the USBc he took our Nintendo switch in the back and re broke the port. Then the guy up front was literally asking why I was mad I told him my product was not returned to me back in the conditions that it was dropped off. Very poor customer service don’t ever recommended taking your expensive electronics here. Updated review. Talked to Dante in customer service and he backed with the store. Very shaming considering I have a house full of electronics and a customer at that. Buyers beware do not take your products here they do not care about the customer.

Don’t take your electronics here if you care about them or if they are not easily replaced. Trusted them to fix the hdmi port on my Xbox series X and they told me 5 days. I called them after a week to be told it wasn’t turning on and the tech wasn’t available to comment on it. I called them after almost another week to be told it won’t stay powered on and it was deemed unrepairable. They also scuffed/scratched the system and peeled the sticker with the serial number (for no reason). They never called to update me about my console I had to call them and they returned it cosmetically damaged and now it won’t even turn on and it did before they had it. They were rude on the phone as well as in person offering no compensation or explanation also rudely undermining the value of the item when I mentioned it is (was😢) a valuable collectors edition. These amateurs should stick to fixing their friends stuff. I’d give 0 stars if I could.

I want to say good things about this place because they tried to be nice but I’m having a hard time. I came to get an iPad screen replaced and at first, the tech tried to claim that my display was also broken and it would be an extra $100 on top of what I was told and I asked for the iPad back. I tapped the lock button and I’m like “how?”. He could only apologize, that he thought it wasn’t working. I get a phone call a couple hours after agreeing it was just the screen to be replaced and they told me they accidentally severed the line for my home button when removing my screen so now they would have to replace my home button for me which they wouldn’t charge me for but it would be an extra few days to get the part and they would give me $50 off. They call me around the estimated time originally it would be ready and told me they had a button to replace it after all, great. The issue is now that I will never be able to use Touch ID on this iPad ever again unless I have Apple repair it at this point. When I go to pick it up, the button was wobbly and they said they would have to open it back up and it would be 20 minutes. No problem. I waited 45 minutes to be told to come back the next day or before close because they got the button to stay in place but the screen needed to be replaced again because it was lagging and they wouldn’t charge me at this point. I’m glad I was able to get my iPad fixed without paying but a week after, I’m still upset because the button has to be pressed a certain way for it to work, you can tell it’s not a standard Apple button and the Touch ID alone... I actually had another repair for a lcd screen for my laptop and I’m having a hard time even reaching out because I feel like I should have been reimbursed for the entire iPad at that point for messing it up more than how it was brought in. The techs were really nice, they were probably just scared to be working at this time with the pandemic going on. The only reason I kept my composure, they had enough going on.

EDIT:

The screen started having issues within a couple months after being replaced and after I used the 90 day warranty for another replacement, now the battery is dying at 30% after I got it back. I can’t even be covered under Apple now.

UPDATE: I got a refurbished iPad of the same model a couple months after the incident when the owner reached out so they tried to make...

Went in the store right at 10am for a screen repair to my Samsung S8. They do not have anyone at the desk to greet people and you wait for someone to appear, wondering if they are open. Finally after getting someone to come out front they processed my rapair. I was told on my receipt said to come back at 12:38pm. When I came back the phone was not ready and waited in the lobby until after 2:30pm. No discount or recognition of being way off the promised time. After getting home I noticed that the screen had to deep scratches on the top of the screen that did not occur by me. Called and they said they closed at 5pm (Sunday) and would not be able to get it done today and bring it in the following day. While trying to take a picture our Christmas Tree before it was taken down, I could not get a good/clear picture. In the light I noticed a fingerprint on the inside of the lens of the camera, apparently not cleaned from the repair. I went back the next morning and the gentleman (not sure who since they do not wear name tags) knew nothing about the issues and wanted to know what I wanted done. I explained that I was told to bring it back and that it would be made right. He went to that back room and then came back out and said that it would be repaired free of charge, by him personally and he apologized for the issue. I was told to come back in 2 hours and it would be ready and he would treat the screen with Liquid Glass. When I came back, the screen was scratch-free and the camera lens glass had been cleaned.

It was emphasized that they would replace this for "FREE", shouldn't that be the case if you have sent out a faulty and botched repair??? You are fixing what you did not do properly. This 2 hour repair ending up costing me FULL PRICE and 7 hours of lost time for me!

I appreciate the professionalism of the gentleman that repaired the botched repair on day two.

UPDATE: The owner contacted me an apologized for the issues that occurred and refunded half of the bill. He was sincere and appreciated my feedback so that it could...

Edit 10/9/24: I did not get a notification from Google that the owner had replied which was really awesome to see. Thank you for that owner it is greatly appreciated, and your reply was a thoughtful and considerate one at that. Thank you again. I had an issue with my repaired battery where the glue started to become unglued and had to take it back in for a re-repair. That is what led me to the review and that I had saw that it was un-automated into a real live human. My re-repair was great and it was handled in one day, today.

All in all I am not going to sweat $5 as the professionalism, patience, and courteousness of all the local staff I interacted with far exceeded this. And you were able to handle my case efficiently today without issue. Thank you again for caring. I feel bad that it's been hanging on 1-star for so long, again not getting any notification from Google that you had edited/changed your review which seems like a massive bug. I have updated it to 5-star to reflect my feelings now. Thank you again for your efforts and energies over there.

Edit: I called the number that the "Response from the owner" provides to my message below, and they stated that "the message in your review is automated, and there's nothing to be done" basically wasting my time. I originally rated this 3-stars, but pushing someone to a phone line that does nothing to help you is 1-star ridiculous. This is a shame because the employees at this location were professional and friendly.

Original: Service was OK, but etiquette needs work. Overall positive, but I was quoted $95 over the phone and was upsold to $105 upon arrival. I talked them down to $100, but still. The part ordered was wrong, so I had to wait another two days plus travel to Lansing to get this addressed. Huge hassle. You would think I would be offered a discount or anything really for the inconvenience but this...
