Positives; Good food, greasy but to be expected.

But that's the end of the positives for my trip here. I ordered five 8" subs. A few that were the same exact thing.

When I got to the window they decided to send the manager up to the window to bark at me about my order and how it was too large. After stating I had no idea they are drive thru only he slammed me for being inconsiderate to the employees as they were short a few people today and how it was also rude to others in the drive thru. (There were 2 other cars behind me)

The order took an exaggerated amount of time to prepare for how simple it was. And the whole time I was badgered by their "management" about how rude I was and how my large order was doing nothing but hurt the business.

Holding my card hostage just to get in a verbal showdown isn't exactly a great start to a food run experience.

If I had ordered 12 things, all different, with major custom stuff requested I'd have totally agreed. But if you're not able to handle 5 subs, and still keep up, perhaps close for the day, or try to keep your employees happy enough they all show up for work.

I've had Big John's before from other locations and have loved the food and service, but I cannot reccomend this location at all. And to upper management up the chain, consider keeping your employees from verbally assaulting the customer for giving you business. Not exactly how to get someone to return.

I...

Building looks old and the drive thru needs to be cleaned up and refreshed. The menu board looks old, maybe they think the old look add to the authenticity of their restaurant not sure but it feels like they don't much care about the appearance of the outside of the building, which I think would create more interest and feel more inviting to would be customers who might look at the building and choose to go somewhere else based on perspective. The inside of the building is very clean, but it does also need an update, nothing fancy just a modernization would help make the space more inviting. The food is amazing, I usually get an 8 inch steak , mushroom and double cheese( I like cheese), you don't have to say onion because all the meat comes with onion unless you specify NO ONION when you order. Always get a side of RED SAUCE, even if you don't want it for your sandwich, dipping your fries in the red stark sauce is delicious. I also get a large waffle fry, they are FIRE, delicious.... They don't travel well in the plastic bag so I recommend asking them to put your fries in a paper bag, if they have them they will do it for you. They just hold the crunchiness better when taking them home, or back to work for your lunch break. The fountain drink station is always clean and the soap is delicious. Not badly priced for what you're getting, I usually spend about $15 at the restaurant. They have a 6 inch sub that is...

Big John's name truly speaks it all! Their steak and onion based sandwiches are to die for! And for what you receive I feel is an EXCELLENT value! The drive thru is always pretty fast considering they fry up YOUR steak & onions for your sandwich after you order! One at a time. My FAVORITE I eat 2-3 times/week is the 8" Steak & Onion w/cheese and (free upon request!)a very large qty of banana peppers & jalapenos! Also free is a side of Big John "red sauce" many request & love! My steak, cheese, & onion is so good it doesn't require the red sauce! The price for my sandwich w/premium ingredients and free sides of sandwich additions w/tax is $7.16! & you're FULL after you're done! Double the size = double the price. Be careful! You'll have a new lifelong favorite! Some locations are a little old but always clean, good service quickly, and I've NEVER had a mistake or a rude staff member. Many other items and sides to choose from! Try it you'll like it! I have no ties to BJ's, this review is from the heart. Theyre one of just a few fast food chains I leave a tip in the jar about every...

From Philadelphia, I'm not a fan of most "cheesesteaks" but this place got it right! I had a chicken cheesesteak, they call it a hoagie but it comes with lettuce, tomato, mayo and other oddities. I ordered it stripped down with just the chicken, cheese and onions ("wid" if you're from Philly) and was pleasantly surprised by how right it was. The chicken was cut just right, the cheese was an American and Swiss mix that was fully melted and just Worked! The roll was the biggest surprise, as it's hard to get the right kind of bread away from the PA, NJ, DE area, but this place did it and did it well. The roll was soft but sturdy enough to contain the mix of chicken, cheese and a bunch of onions (yes!), tasted right and just plain worked. Of course my friend, having his own cheesesteak with mushrooms, had to point out that there were sesame seeds on the roll. Not something I dislike, it's just out of place in a hoagie or cheesesteak roll. Fortunately, it just worked as did all the ingredients in both of our sandwiches. The waffle fries we ordered on the side were good too, so a win all around.

Stopped in for lunch on a Friday and ordered the Steak and Cheese minus onions. It came out fresh and steamy, with tender meat and gooey cheese—adding their signature sauce gave it a perfect tangy layer. And while they’re famous for their sandwiches, I have to say the waffle fry was the best I’ve ever had. I actually wished I was still eating them after they were gone! The staff was super friendly and clearly takes pride in their work. It’s a two-hour drive for me, so I’m not sure how often I’ll get to go back—but now, when my boyfriend gets to stop there on his lunch, I’ll be extra jealous.

I grew up on Flint and have been eating Big John my entire life. I moved away some years ago but stop whenever I get an opportunity. I happened to be in Lansing for a work training and saw this location. Ordered a Super Steak, Cheese, and mushroom and when I got back to my hotel to eat all the onions were basically still raw and crunchy and it lacked seasoning! Must say I’m saddened by this experience.
