While the store looked intriguing and fun, we didn’t get to explore much. We walked out after a few minutes due to the staff being rude. I had my two younger children (very well-behaved children) walking with me and immediately could tell the employee (owner??) was apprehensive and worried about children being in the store. My kids said the employee was watching us approach the store as I was putting my baby in a carrying wrap. I proactively talked to my children about being careful, but kids will be kids, and they did handle a few rocks/stones. The employee startled my son by approaching him from behind, she made an “ehhh” sound when she saw my son holding a stone, and she proceeded to tell him to be careful. Her tone and body language, however, spoke volumes and made us feel unwelcome, so we left. My poor six year old was terribly disappointed that she couldn’t look around more. It was a very disheartening and an unfortunate experience for myself and my children. Maybe they should put up a “no children” sign right next to the “mask required” sign at the entrance. What a fun store gone all wrong by poor manners, poor execution for product display (lots of glass and very tight space) for children, and discrimination.
In response to the owner’s reply: My “kid,” as you so shamelessly and heartlessly refer to my children, most definitely did not drop anything. I was present and watchful the entire time. Your response speaks volumes about your values, and I will refer others back to my original post noting “poor manners,” but will add “unprofessional” and “insensitive” business owner. You clearly have zero experience with children, as evidenced by the recommendation to teach a child to be more gentle so as to not...
Read morewas super excited about this shop and went in with a group of friends but then 2 minutes into our shopping, my boyfriend was trying on rings with a friend and we quickly noticed that one of the employees was motioning towards him, implying that he was stealing rings? (he very obviously was not, he was trying them on but was putting all of them back). After that, i went upstairs with my friends to check out some clothes, who at this point were uncomfortable because they felt as if we weren’t wanted there, the employee kept coming upstairs to “check” on things and just kept lingering around, essentially felt like she was following us. Then I was trying on some clothes upstairs and my group of friends were waiting for me (they’re all boys and not completely interested in crystals or girls clothing so they were just being kind and waiting for me), and i quickly heard one of the employees come upstairs and ask my friends, how they were doing, what are they doing, i immediately said “they’re waiting for me im trying on some clothes” and my friends were all very nice to her but she had an extremely suspicious tone to her voice. again, as if we were stealing. all in all, i was really wanting a pair of pants and was fully prepared to spend the $40 on them, however after that experience i wasn’t comfortable giving them any of my business, so we left. everyone greeted us when we came in, but did not say anything when we left. will never come back and really saddened at this experience, really just wanted to check out a cool crystal spot, this...
Read moreNo pun intended...Juliet's Jewels is a true north Texas jewel. Besides having an amazing, hand-curated (by Juliet herself) selection of jewelry, gems, and crystals, Juliet has brought unique and beautiful clothing to Denton.
The store is warm and inviting, and you can feel the positivity as you walk through the door. They are cautious and ask that all visitors ring the bell and get hand sanitizer before entering, where masks are expected.
The staff is warm and welcome as well, and Juliet's presence fills the room. She welcomes everyone as though they were the most important person in the room.
As a local business owner, we aspire to develop the kind of following and reputation as Juliet's Jewels. As a resident of Denton, we are thrilled to have this magical place as part of...
