First off I liked the store it's a huge upgrade from when I shopped there in high school I'm 25 now. I went in for the first time in awhile last Saturday and bought over $100 worth of clothes and the girl checking me out was very helpful nice we talked the whole time she checked me out. That same day I called the store and asked how the exchanging process worked they gave me the run down. Cool. Fast forward to this week I went in to exchange the shorts (they were shorter then i expected). I go in I asked the one of the staff members could I exchange the shorts she said yes gave me a paper to sign she checked my receipt said everything looked good, and I went to find something for the same price as the shorts(which I did find). Now as I'm about to do the exchange there's another girl who looks at the receipt says one of the shorts "isn't on here and it's not in the system". So she can only exchange one of the shorts. I say okay well since you lost $8 anyway by giving me shorts can I just get a different size since i cant fit them? She keeps stating it's not in their system, but if it's not in the system that means you never processed the shorts in your system in the first place but you had a Plato's tag and price. (Which that is a mistake on your end) So she exchanged me for one pair and now I'm left with shorts I can't fit. I followed policy tags on clothes, have my receipt, come in within 7days etc. Mistakes happen totally understandable the girl checking me out last week probably missed ringing up the shorts.. we had a nice conversation. I've worked C.S. since I was 18 I've never gotten angry because there's no need there's solutions to everything, but the girls that helped me were rude and didn't come up with any solution for a problem on their behalf. The girl redheaded girl rolled her eyes at me thinking I wasn't paying attention all because I showed little frustration. A solution could be since you already lost $8 anyway and since she gave me back the shorts let me get shorts for $8 I can fit. A simple solution for a small problem. I really like the store but those girls really ruined it for me. Need more mature women there who can better communicate. I wish I got the other girls name she was a gem. Not sure i'' be back. I hope...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreUPDATE: Platoās has taken care of the issue and we have come to agree on a fair deal. While it did take a while for us to reach this conclusion, Iām pleased with how they handled things overall and am pleasantly surprised with how patient and kind they were to me even when I was impatient with them. Some of the people I dealt with were nicer than others but at least they fixed the problem. Liz, one of the managers, was very personable and helpful. Morgan, on the other hand was pretty rude and had nothing to say about anything. Pretty hit or miss with this location. Good luck.
Iāve shopped at the Platoās in Denton for years now and have usually had good luck finding a few cute things. My first time trying to sell to them was going smoothly (of course they only bought one item out of a bag of 15-20+ items, almost all name brand) until I went to pick up my bag of clothes that they did not want to buy.
One of the cashiers had given my bag of clothes to another customer. They tried calling the customer who received my bag but she quickly hung up and made it obvious she is not planning on bringing back my clothes. This was over 3 weeks ago now and Platoās has done very little to fix the situation.
Iāve had to call them multiple times over these few weeks in an attempt to get them to do something about their mistake. After the first few calls/conversations, they offered me something like $35 cash and $50 store credit. I do not want store credit. $35 is not enough compensation considering what was in that bag.
If I had been able to sell all of those items to other shops or even individuals looking to purchase, I wouldāve been able to make minimum $80. I know for a fact that almost all of the items in that bag were name brand, in good condition, and relatively new. Iām so frustrated that Iām the one getting ripped off in this situation when it was not my mistake, and that what is probably a multi million dollar company is trying to give me $35 cash or $50 store credit. Thatās ridiculous and I wonāt accept it. Iāve also tried to contact corporate but have.... of course..... not...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have been to this particular location multiple times to sell my clothes for extra cash. Every time they never give me even close to the value of what I sold. I sold two pairs of steve madden shoes that had both only been worn ONLY ONCE and the total of money back they gave me (plus a few other clothing items) was $50. Thatās pathetic. I donāt typically write reviews because I think itās pretty petty. However, after my experience today I am very unhappy. I dropped off ONE trashbag of clothes at 1:53pm. After dropping them off I asked how long it would be and they said 20-30 minutes, which is reasonable. I went and ran a quick errand at target and came back to wait for the text to tell me they were done and I never got it. It is now 2:41pm. I walked in to see my clothes on the counter like they had already picked through it. I asked the girl, POLITELY, if I could go ahead and check out since it seemed like the process was done. Instead, I was told it was going to be another 20-30 minutes. Mind you, the girl who told me had a bad attitude. Iām disappointed with the customer service and lack of knowledge of the...
