I have an anxious dog (everyone who takes their dog to daycare has anxiety to a degree). I told staff she would be anxious and give her time to warm up. Everytime I looked on the cameras she was outside with everyone, trying to be near staff who were just sitting around. I thought "whatever, I'm being overdramatic, she is fine". Then I arrived to pick her up, and saw through the window she was staring at staff, frothing at the mouth. This is a huge anxiety symptom in all dogs. Again, I let it go. I wait for them to bring her out when I hear barking, crying, clawing, and yelling coming from the other side of the door. Apparently there were multiple dogs in the staging area where my dog was being leashed. Most dog aggression occurs on leash. What a vulnerable position to put my dog in.Then the staff informed me she tried to bite a staff member when they were putting her in a kennel. My dog is non aggressive, and has never even shown signs of aggression towards anyone, let alone humans. The staff then said, "next time we'll probably just try to lead her in", which begs the question, how were you trying to get her in when she lashed out? This now becomes and issue of staff's insensitivity towards my dogs personality and challenges. Ignoring her anxiety and warning signs leads to any dog lashing out. But when a dog lashes out, the dog is punished, despite what a human did to aggravate the situation or what the human ignored. I apologized to the staff she tried to bite and went on my way. The staff at the desk then recommended calming treats. Great idea. She takes those. I recommend being aware and compassionate towards dogs who are notably uncomfortable. This place has far too many dogs, inattentive staff, and is overpriced. Might I add my dog is less than a year old, very much still a timid puppy just trying to figure out the world. Very disappointing. Giving one extra star because the first day here is free. Though i would have paid full price for a good...
Read moreThe staff at the Daily Wag have been taking care our old fur kid, Bonita (14yo GSD mix), for years. We used to use them when they were in the Highlands strip mall location. Troy and his amazing team have always treated me and my dog like their family. The staff follow your feeding and care directions to the letter and take care of our dog like one of their own. What more can you ask for?
Recently, during the holidays they have begun to ask for a deposit to hold your reservation. While it's a new policy, we are more than willing to pay it to ensure we have the best accommodations in the city for our "only child", and completely understand why Troy would have to implement this policy.
We have waited too long in the past to make a reservation and had to use other boarding/day care options in the city. They are much more expensive and less personal. We always regret it afterwards.
If you take your pup to Troy and The Daily Wag you will be able to enjoy your time knowing your companion is safe,...
Read moreOur fur babies have been boarding at Daily Wag on Yuma St located in Denver, Colorado for 11 years. Daily Wag provides professional and personalized care for each dog that enters the facility. The most recent time we boarded Debo and Nala July 2021, the care and concern Stephanie and Jonathan provided for them was exceptional. Debo and Nala currently have hip issues due to aging. They can no longer exercise and play as they did in previous years. Since there were others in similar conditions, Stephanie and Jonathan with kindness and creatively put together groups of the young ones and the seasoned. Excellent and very safe idea! We would also add Daily Wag is kept very clean, neat and organized. Stephanie, Jonathan and the others on the team treat all of the fur babies with the care and concern they give their own.Last but not least.... the baths Jonathan and the team give the fur babies is better than anyone else can give them. We LOVE and thank Daily...
