Normally, our visits to this Super Target are great! However, my girlfriend and I were disappointed when the service we received was not what we expected.
To explain the situation, we were doing our normal shopping and decided to go through the self-checkout. We normally bring our own bags and such, so I started to use the gigantic bag we purchased a few weeks ago. I placed it in the buggy because this is what I normally do to save time instead of having to scan each item, place it to the side, and then place it in the bag. We usually have no issues doing this either.
The Issue: Before I started scanning the items, the customer service representative walked up to us and said, "can you please scan your items and place them to the side where the camera can see what you scanned." I thought this was highly disrespectful. I did as she said and placed all the items to the side. I didn't think much of it, but it did feel insulting because I looked around and didn't see anyone else who had to do this, and there were many who were doing exactly what I was going to do.
This triggered my girlfriend because she felt like she was being targeted. I explained to her that it was probably not a race thing because I was dressed in my standard "I don't care" clothes and it may have been the way that I dressed that caused her to do this. Still, my girlfriend wanted to speak with a manager to figure out what could be done.
We spoke with the manager, and the manager advised us that she would speak with the individual and give us a call back to figure out why we were discriminated against. My girlfriend works too hard in life to have to go through extra stress outside of work and I also understand that workers in grocery stores don't get paid enough to have to deal with all of the angry customers they deal with each day. I used to work in retail as well and feel their pain, but it still isn't a reason to target someone for whatever reason.
Also, last bit of information I want to add. I've used the self-checkout registers quite a bit, and if they don't see a product, they will flag it automatically. The product didn't have to sit to the side like she was advising us. I also saw other comments like this that warned of the same situation happening to other customers. Again, it may not be a lot of customers, but it is enough to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI almost had a nervous breakdown at Target today. This is not the first time that I have been to this Target and thought, what a mess! Items are often in the wrong spot so when you try to look on the shelf for the price it does not match the item that is stocked there. This was one only one of my issues today.
I went in looking for four pairs of toddler shoes in the shoe department and it was an absolute disaster. I was NOT the only customer frustrated. I found seven pairs of shoes in clearance that I was interested in buying and out of the seven, six of them were NOT actually on clearance. I later found one shoe, not a pair of shoes, but one shoe in the size I wanted that my little one was interested in and could not find the mate anywhere. After giving up, I went to kids clothing and it was impossible to find sizes there as well and ran into the same problem with items not being in their place. I was scanning all the items I was looking for to find them online, if they were in stock, which most were not, the price was much higher online. It has a message that says you can price match by calling a number and having them adjust it, but how convenient is that? When youāre in the middle of the store with two 3-year-olds, you donāt want to have to sit there and read them item numbers and prices on one item, let alone multiple.
I then headed over to the storage containers, in which the shelves were nearly bare. I carefully checked the tag on the shelf underneath the one storage container that they had on the shelf that was the size I needed and it was on sale. The brand and the number of gallons where exactly as printed below, yet I was charged full price for this item when I checked out and didnāt notice until I got home.
All the targets are so much harder to navigate since they changed the layout, nothing is ever in stock, prices are not listed in a place that is visible and convenient, and this particular store is always a mess! There is a long wait line at the register because usually they just rely on self check out (which was swamped also) and maybe one or two active lines all of which were all long today! It was a horrible...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI donāt generally leave reviews, this might honestly be my first time ever . Iāve never went to a store with a whole list of items and had to walk out empty handed because they had nothing I needed on the shelves UNTIL I went to this Target . The food I had on my list was stocked ,however, it was all expired , some by days others by almost a week !. my boyfriend was with me and got a cheese and sausage plate from the fresh section (was still good for a week or so according to the date) .Turns out the sausage was so spoiled and the taste actually made him puke immediately. Iām assuming it may not have been refrigerated properly at some point in its journey at or to the store :/ I have tried this location 5 times (always the same with the expiration dates) and probably will never be back after this round . Iād rather drive farther to know I wonāt waste my time or have to question if what Iām buying is still edible . I do want to add however that the staff there is EXTREMELY KIND AND VERY PLEASANT! I usually value customer service above all things and will be back if workers are nice , but unfortunately the condition of the store and itās food quality greatly outweigh the caring gestures at this...
