Ok, so of course this review may be somewhat biased, BUT this is by no means AUTHENTIC Cuban food nor does anyone working at least when we went has any clue about Cuban food. Now to be fair, the food taste wise was fine but, authentic wise- NO! I am Cuban American and live in South Florida so we are full of authentic Cuban places and I have traveled to Cuba several times, so I definitely know my Cuban. I ordered something simple, pan con lechon.. easy enough... BUT the sandwich had some weird coleslaw mixture thing in it that is NOT typical of that type of sandwich, again let me say the taste NOT BAD but authentic- not at all. The black beans were good but there's really no way to mess them up especially as they tasted like the canned kind with added seasoning which I wont knock because I use that at home and do the same so that was fine... The drinks were in fact very tasty, the empanadas were very much on point, but those are really hard to mess up, but the worst and strangest thing was when we ordered a colada which is Cuban coffee AKA liquid Cocaine lol.. When this coffee drink is ordered it generally comes in a small 6 oz cup with small shot cups as this coffee is VERY VERY strong and not for the weak.... Well, very much to my surprise they served it in a HUGE mug that was at least 20oz if not larger and you couldn't split it because they had no little cups, nothing. The taste was decent but again this is hard to mess up and it tasted like Bustelo anyhow so there's not much to be done. However, if you drank that whole thing, I guarantee you'd have a heart attack within the hour. I am not going to say this restaurant was bad but in order to be authentic at least do your research and know what you're serving and how to serve it. This place has so much potential to be a money pit with the right tweaks. Would I go back? Not likely but please don't say its authentic when there is really zero...
Read moreWe was looking for a new take out place for dinner tonight, we seen Cuban (my favorite ethnic food) and was super happy we had a restaurant so close to home!My husband went to go grab the food and met us back home.I got ground beef with rice and fried plantains asked for no beans but they just assured my husband it came on the side. For 2 Cuban sandwiches 2 entrees it cost 85$ when he pulled out my mini size old school TV dinner tray but looked like it was made for a toddler.I opened it up to find a few bites worth or rice and less meat, with beans so close that can’t be avoided. I could probably count the ground beef balls. My husband got the shredded beef again snack size and looked like dog food but a 8wk old pup.I haven’t looked at wheat my kids will eat for dinner but I’m sure we’re gonna have to make something else at home tonight smh.I don’t understand where these good reviews came from- McDicks would have been more satisfying!!!! I feel ripped off and completely sad these people represent o e of my favorite cultured food!!!!!Where in Denver do they have a good place that has pride, o no forget it I don’t think I’d trust anybody from here to know what good food is- O and the plantains almost broke my teeth so so hard, and I paid for yuca and it wasn’t...
Read moreI chosed to two stars for this location, just because the food is different then the other location they have in Glandale! Over there the same steak sandwich is delicious, the condiments they use over there are great, fresh and they add different stuff inside the same sandwich, where at this location the same sandwich has way different taste, barely has anything inside, no condiments, I mean sure I see a big onion sliced and fried in a ton of oil that turns your stomach upside down, sure I see tons of lettuce inside the sandwich, but then again if I wanted loads of lettuce I would of chosen a regular BLT from Jimmy John's! Inside this sandwich there are a lot of things missing. Sure I wanted a nice Cuban sandwich from Cuba Cuba, but I went to the wrong address! I'm writing this review as I eat, and definitely this sandwich should easily be thrown away, but I won't, I payed $13 for it because it was on a gluten free bun, which makes it even gross. Oh well, I've learned my lesson, I'll only use the Cuba Cuba location from Glandale! Thank you so much for this wanna...
