As much as I want to keep this gem my little secret, I cannot help but give Shiva Studio the glowing review they deserve.
Shiva Yoga has been a positive, life-changing experience for me. I’ve been practicing here for just over three months, and I continually leave class with a calm state of mind feeling relaxed and refreshed.
All the instructors are super friendly and encouraging, fostering a safe, judgment-free environment. Shout out to all the instructors that have taught me SO MUCH. Thank you, Liz (owner), Ashley, Jamie, Julie, Michelle, and Beau.
I love that they each have their unique teaching style, keeping classes fun and exciting. They consistently reinforce fitting the practice to fit your own yoga needs. Whether you’re just starting or have been doing this for years, all yogis are welcome here.
Pilates and barre are still on my to-do list, but I’ve heard great things about them!
They also hold events such as Barre-oke (barre meets karaoke), sound baths, buti yoga, and drum circles. They even did a special puppy (foster puppies) yoga session last month!
Things To Note:
Although the Shiva Studio remains listed on the Active & Fit website, it no longer participates in the A&F program.
In The Kutt, a hip-hop dance studio is right next door; sometimes, each studio has a class simultaneously. Unfortunately, it can sometimes be distracting to hear their music during a yoga session. However, this happens infrequently and isn’t enough to keep me away.
FYI, after my two-week trial, I needed some assistance initiating the monthly membership through the Shiva website. Liz quickly and efficiently helped me with this in person at the studio. The Mind Body app is the most efficient way of looking up the weekly schedule and signing up for classes.
Liz checks in on you by email after your first few sessions to see if you have any questions or comments! She has been timely and informative with my inquiries.

Read moreAmazing place!!! When my bootcamp studio closed due to COVID, a friend of mine recommended Shiva Yoga studio to me. From the time I set foot in the studio, I knew I had found a gem, offering a welcoming atmosphere and a great community. Liz and her sweat masters/instructors in sweat offer challenging classes. The various options enable you to pick and choose what feels best for you on that particular day. There is no comparison, no judging, just pure camaraderie. They offer sound bath mediations, hikes during the summer, etc. It reminds me of the series Cheers (for those of us who remember) where everybody knows your name they are glad you came...thank you, Liz and your team, for providing a little peace of...
Read moreFlexible I am not. But, I am working to lose weight and ease some of my stress levels. I recently attended a class here with Jamie. Jamie was a wonderful instructor for multiple reasons. First, she was obviously great and knowledgeable in yoga. Probably a part of her job description.
But, more importantly to me, she created a space where I wasn't self conscious about the fact that my balance was not perfect, that I couldn't actually touch the floor, and that I was sweating like a waterfall. Going to the gym is challenging due to judgement. Taking a class with Jamie felt natural. Maybe after a few more I WILL actually touch...
