Let me start off by saying that my review isn’t an attempt to bash this business, but rather an attempt to give my honest opinion on what the food was like for me. In short, I felt that this place did not live up to all of the hype that surrounds it. We ordered two pizzas: the 3-meat, and the chori queso. Both were a greasy mess, but not in an enjoyable way. The chorizo itself was my biggest letdown. It was a soggy mess of flavorless meat. Either they’re pulling the pizza out a few minutes too early, or perhaps they should fry it up a bit beforehand, but whatever the case rather than having a nice crispy layer of chorizo, you’re left with soggy chorizo laying in an excess pool of grease. When you combine that, with another pool of grease coming from the chicharrón, it quickly becomes overwhelming and turns what could’ve been an amazing pizza, into a large slice of disappointment. That being said, our experience as a whole was a positive one! Their customer service was amazing; all of the staff was super friendly. The salsas are made by whom I presume to be the owner’, mother and they were SUPERB. Really enjoyed both the red and green salsa. In summary, would I go out of my way to make a trip out here for some pizza? No. Would I eat it again if I’m in the area and in the mood for...
Read moreI travel to Seattle quite a bit for work, and on a recent trip, I stayed in a different area down in Des Moines. I always love finding local spots (not chains), so I looked up some good pizza places and stumbled across this gem. Honestly, I was blown away—it’s one of the best pizzas I’ve ever had.
The guys working there were super friendly. They greeted me right away and even asked how I’d heard about them. Great customer service! I decided to go with a classic pepperoni pizza—it’s my go-to for comparing places I’ve tried all over the country. And let me tell you, it was phenomenal. Cooked perfectly, with just the right amount of cheese and toppings. The crust was delicious and soft, but not too soft—just the way it should be.
They have a really eclectic menu, but even the “plain Jane” pepperoni I ordered was outstanding. I seriously can’t say enough good things about this place. If you’re in the area, do yourself a favor and check it out—I’m sure there’s something...
Read moreFinally got around to visiting this unassuming pizza joint and I was not disappointed in the least. The quality was good, the staff we friendly and the menu offered some of the most unique styles of pizza I have ever seen or tasted. Since most people living in the US have had 1,000 kinds of pizza I always find it head scratching that restaurants and pizzerias tend to serve the same flavors and hardly venture outside of the pizza box (pun intended). Not Pizzas Locos!! They hit a home run with their distinctive Mexican flavors and creative menu. I personally got the Mexican Style 3 Meat which offered a unique salsa verde base topped with carne asada, chicharrónes and chorizo. The flavor profile was out of this world and I have been salivating for more ever since. I will most definitely be back soon, the only issue I might have will be whether or not to order the same pizza or try something new. Do yourself a favor...
