Des Moines Library — Attraction in Des Moines

Due to a situation that has been raised to my attention as to how this library conducts itself with formal complaints, I will not be attending this location, and will highly advise others do the same. With the recent Drag Queen Story Time, I know some people who have had legitimate concerns regarding there being high risk molesters showing up to these events. And some have sent emails to this establishment expressing their concerns to then be traced to the place of employment where they are trying to have the sender of said emails fired. This is not how you handle scrutiny when you're a public tax payers facility. Hopefully, whoever is in charge of this location understands the severity of the situation and takes the appropriate action to getting the extremist supporters removed permanently along with the filth they attract. I love this Library. All of the libraries i’ve been to in King county are good, but this one is great.

All of the librarian’s i’ve met at King County libraries have been helpful, but the most friendly, informative, and caring librarians are here.

The library offers the best picks for their surprise bags, sure to supercharge your young readers, or re-kindle the flame of the old you who used to read more. They used to have fantastic community events before COVID, and they haven’t let COVID stop them from doing similar, but virtually.

Everything you’d want from a library, they got some nice tables for sprawling out to study, they got books and sections for the books too! During the week it’s not so crowded plenty of space to find a spot to read or do some homework or something; but the weekends tend to be a bit more busy.

There are a bit of homeless here, but they’re nice. I’ve had experiences in the past of the homeless becoming a bit loud and disruptive, but it was not a big deal in my experience.
