Des Moines Beach is very beautiful. The trails are well marked and have stunning wildlife in the area. There is a building along the trail that looks like a water cleaning plant. I wish there was information about the process the facility uses on the fencing. It would be a good outreach to the community by the city about what we bring back into the ocean. There are spots on the trail that looks camped in and used as a dumping ground. I wish more trail baskets were available on the main trail clearly marked for people. Read moreVisited again in April 2025 to see how the beach has changed over the years, and the upgrades are obvious—new seating areas, fresh landscaping, and a cleaner, more inviting layout. Best of all, the city kept the wide-open ocean view that makes this spot special. Only drawback: parking is now paid, so bring a few dollars or a card. Otherwise, the refresh makes a great park even better.
