Proceed with caution in working with the team at Porsche Destin. Especially if shopping from out of state! They are "johnny on the spot" with the pre/sales experience but their lack of attention to detail and follow through will lead to MANY unnecessary headaches and frustration.
I was interested in a Cayenne and shopping from out of state. They made the remote shopping experience great - wonderful video and information about the car - quick and thorough response to questions. However, once in person to see the car, the online price I had been communicating with the sales person over text miraculously increased approx. $8k the day I arrived. Didn't realize this until we started talking price to get the deal done ... you can imagine my surprise to see the "new" sticker price. I was told that this increase was due to them having to service the vehicle for sales and that this was a rare instance that they even put the vehicle up for sale without it already having gone through this process ... I had been in communication for almost 3 weeks with the sales person about this vehicle at the price published on their website that never changed until I showed up???? Should've walked away then ... the financing process was typical except that looking back over the paperwork in more detail the next day, I realized none of the numbers matched up across the various sheets - from original agreed upon pricing option sheet to the financing paperwork; then fast fwd to when they delivered the car; I had brought to the sales person's attention that the alignment seemed off to which he said that would be fixed prior to delivery - it wasn't so I had to drive over 700 miles home without proper alignment. Fast further fwd (2 wks from purchase) at my DMV Appointment to get the vehicle registered in my state (TX) when I find out after waiting over 3 hours that Porsche Destin hadn't even sent out my information to TX. (I was told by sales/financing it would go out by the following Mon(Tues the latest) following my purchase on a Fri.)
Overall I'd rate this less than 1 if I could, for the amount of money I've spent with this dealership and traded in a great vehicle that they will no doubt make profit on as well ... their customer service and lack of attention to detail / follow up is...
Read moreWent to Destin Posche dealership We saw a Cayman S we liked so my spouse and I applied jointly. Asking Price $92K. They were taking too long in getting approval, so we decided to leave, Sale Rep. Dean calls us about 20 mins after we left saying he got us a great deal! He got us the car at $85K, with $20K down, so we accepted. Next day we went to sign contract & pickup car. I ended applying alone. Hour's pass awaiting on finance manager to make changes to contract. While signing, there were documents that had to be removed as it was not done prior to sit down. When I received my first car statement and saw balance, it was $5K more than agreed. I called dealer immediately to fix error, but Porsche of Destin reply they couldn't do anything that it was a done deal; next reply was how are we going to make money? Is this a fly trap. Dean Wagener- Sales rep.(weasel) Did nothing to fix error. What he sent me via email was a form I filled out jointly with spouse to apply for vehicle prior to them offering car at $85K that clearly states on bottom this is not an offer or contract. Bottom line they never changed amount to $85K as agreed and did nothing to remedy issue. No refund, No apologies, nothing. Also beware as my husband and I were leaving dealership day before, while walking to our car a Porsche employee pulling out for car wash ask my husband & I to get in a customer's car that he wanted to show us something. He hauled a*s down the road to show how fast the car was. I told my husband that was wrong because that car belongs to a customer that took his car to get cleaned, what if car got damage Porsche would wash their hands and say all we did was clean it. Despicable. So, all of you that take your car for cleaning beware, they like to take your car...
Read moreMy previous visits to Porsche of Destin were positive and confident. However, my last experience in November, 2023 was 180 degrees different. I had scheduled an annual maintenance (inspection) and oil change.
My annual maintenance (inspection) was not accomplished. I inadvertently left my dash-cam mounted and my entire serviced lasted 40 minutes aside, from my car idling outside and in the work-bay. My wheels and under car protective covers were not removed. My steering, front suspension and brake components are not visible without removing wheels and cover. The turbo sumps were not drained on my oil change.
I spoke to Brandon in person a day or two after my service and he said; “I spent two hours on your car.” He also disclosed, he did not take off my wheels because, “there was not enough time.”
I called Porsche of Atlanta to voice my concerns and Andy (service manager) answered my concern with “I don’t trust them.” Well, that could not be further from the truth, in the past, I have left two positive reviews.
My service was $499 + shop supplies $41.32 + a can of brake clean $4.50 and an extra quart of oil (7.99) that never went in my engine. All told, my bill without my military discount would have been a stone’s throw from $600.00 for an oil change that took a total of 40 minutes.
I have owned Porsches for 30 years, PCA member for the last 15 years and bringing my 996TT to Porsche of Destin for approximately for the last five years.
I am disappointed and embarrassed because, I recommended Porsche of Destin to my friends and fellow...
