Just got done with a day of diving and was looking for a good Thai place nearby. We saw Thai Delight was very close by and had a great rating so we gave it a try. Got there at 8:30pm so we can only do take out.
We ordered some Tom Kha soup (tofu), ginger snapper and drunken noodle (tofu). Also ordered 2 Thai Ice tea.
The Good:
The price was good and quite cheap. We were served by a very nice young lady with a great sense of humor. The Thai ice tea was humongous but came in with lots of ice and was good and creamy but they can use a little more tea powder.
The Bad:
The ginger snapper was quite watery, almost like a soup. The fish filet was hard because it was quite over cooked or it has been over cooked several time before and was served a couple hours later to us. The tofus from the Tom Kha soup was not very good and tasted chunky instead of a smooth texture. The soup was quite tarty and not like what a Tom Kha soup should be like.
We were very disappointed with the food and felt like they had precooked the food and had them reheated to be served (I hope not) to go.
It’s a good thing we had lots of rice so I just made some egg fried rice and enjoyed it instead.
I made this review not to trash the restaurant but to get them to better their food preparation since we want to support good Asian...
Read moreFound this place by chance. We had just finished rock climbing in Destin and wanted to grab food on our way home. The other restaurant we wanted to try was closing in less than 30 mins so we decided to settle with the Thai place "near Target". We were so pleased! The restaurant was low key, self seating, and smelled great! The waitress saw that we drank our water quickly after ordering, so she brought out a pitcher for us as well as an extra lime slices (originally asked for water with lime). She was very thoughtful. Then our food came out very quickly. It looked as good as it tasted! I was bummed that I didn't take a picture. We had Massaman curry and Tom kha soup. We left the restaurant still talking how it was the best Thai we've had in years. Because of the AF bases, there are a lot of Thai places and we've tried many of them! My one complaint that is common at most Thai restaurants that I've been too is that I ordered "Thai hot. The hottest possible. I like to cry". It was really good and pretty hot but it could have been more spicy for my liking. I asked the waitress and she did say that she only had them do an 8/10 spice level. I won't hold it against them because like I said I've only had maybe 3 restaurants "actually" make Thai hot for me. 10/10...
Read moreAh, Destin! Where the emerald waters meet the siren song of Thai Delights! We embarked on a culinary odyssey, guided by the benevolent spirits Yada and Blake, our servers extraordinaire. Their attentiveness was a balm to the soul, their smiles a beacon in the night. The red curry, oh, the red curry! A fiery symphony of flavors, a dance of spice and coconut milk upon the tongue. It was a love story with each bite, a passionate tango with the Tom Kha Gai, its creamy embrace a soothing counterpoint to the curry's ardent heat. And the crushed peanuts! A playful sprinkle of texture, a delightful crunch amidst the silken symphony. The ambiance, my dear friend, was a portal to another realm. A haven of tranquility, where time slowed its relentless march and worries melted away like ice cream on a summer's day. It was a sanctuary for lovers and families alike, a place to forge memories as precious as the finest pearls. Should your wanderlust lead you to Destin's shores, heed my call and seek out Thai Delights. It is a culinary oasis, a feast for the senses, and an experience that will linger in your memory long after the memory of a long day, like the last morsel has vanished. This is my kind of comfort, so make it a +1 for a morning Star of sorts, and an...
