Walking into this store for the first time a few weeks ago was a out of this world experience. I was never really a ‘gamer’ growing up, I was more into movies and books but I decided to buy a Nintendo switch O L E D for me and my two girls so I can play the ring work out game. The store looks wonderful, very clean, smells nice, not dingy or gross, the selection of games could be better but I understand that its determined on who trades things in an for what system. I wish they would get more anime stuff, my girls would die for animation wall posters or even more statues like the my academia heroes one or the demon slayer, as there is no place in my town (Reeder) to get ‘em. Maybe even more Hello kitty stuff too for the younger girls around! I loved this one girl that was working when I came there, I didnt get her name but she has bangs and glasses, very sweet, warm happy smile, she helped me was beyond wonderful when finding the right games for my oldest daughters (16) birthday, and even taught my younger daughter (5) about the stuffed animal she was holding when my daughter kept asking about all the cutie little plushys this store has and now all my daughter talks about is the ‘jiggly puff’ from pok-e-mone and wanting more LOL! It’s very wonderful going into a place where staff treats us like a family member rather then seeming like they are just there for a paycheck. I wish more places in town were this friendly. Thank u Rock30 for great time! And Thank U to that girl for answering all my questions and my daughters questions about her plushies! Very very happy I driven from reeder to see...
Read moreFirst off, this is more of a retro game store, so if you're looking for the latest games, just go to Walmart or Gamestop (ignore the one star reviews). If you're looking for older games to relieve a piece of your childhood, that's where Rock30 comes in.
My husband and I have been to both the Dickinson and Minot locations and have had nothing but enthusiastic, friendly, efficient service. They have walls filled with old DVDs for cheap prices, and they carry almost every older console and the games for them. I bought a PS2 from them, and it was clean and works perfectly. They had all the cords for it as well, and cleaned the PS1 and PS2 games that I bought with it. It still works like a gem almost five months later.
They also carry board games, frisbee golf discs, and TONS of geek merchandise. I never spend less than a half hour in here looking at all their cool stuff. They also have a cool rewards card (not a credit card) that can get you money off your next purchase AND keeps track of any warranties you buy for your consoles in case you lose the receipt. Awesome, awesome, awesome place. I make the drive to Minot from Williston just to go there instead...
Read moreStaff is usually pretty friendly, but unfortunately, today was not one of those days. I came into the store, looking to trade in some old consoles i dont use. When asked if i could trade them in, i got a look and a big sigh. I told her i understand it takes a little extra time for consoles since they have to test them, and i was in no hurry. About 15 minutes later, I'm called up to the front. And it sounds like they don't follow their trade-in value website. I traded in a ps4, three controllers, plus my xbox One. Nothing wrong with any of the devices except one controller being a little dirty. Website told me I'd be getting around $280-$320 depending on if I did cash or in-store credit. They offered me $150.. not pleased with being low-balled and do not recommend trading in with them. Not only are they rude about it, but they don't give you the...
