Books-A-Million — Local services in Douglasville

I really try to support brick and mortar stores whenever possible but unfortunately seems that BAM is not interested in the business. I checked on the BAM website that they had a book in stock and so I went to the store to purchase. Upon finding the book I noticed that the price in store is $3 higher than their in store pick up option on their website. Upon bringing this to the attention of the cashier I was informed that they couldn’t match their own price for in store pickup and that if I wanted to place the order online I’d have to wait 30 min for the order to come through and then could have the book. What a hassle just for them to match their own price. I passed and went to Amazon and got it for $5 less than BAM. Wasted trip to the store but oh well. Great books. Decent prices. However, I disliked the way the female in there today (5/25|22) offered us “three free magazines right now” and then signed us up for a subscription. I canceled as soon as I got home but my thing is just tell me everything and don’t be sneaky. I HATE that. Would have been best to be open and honest and give me the option to be bothered with that. The store is a nice store for its location. The selection is sort of limiting but with the size of the retail area it is understandable. The staff are friendly I wish they were a little more engaging when you're trying to search for a particular book or genre. one major thing I would like to say is, I wish when the clerk is ringing you out. That they didn't try to up-sell you on a million different things or donations and you waste the next ten minutes of life telling them no to every question just so you can check out and go about...
