I was with 11 of my developmentally disabled clients on Wednesday, 30th August at the Market Deli in the Food Court at Arbor Place Mall, who wanted to eat out on this particular day. I transported them in my office van and the Van locked us out. It rained heavy on this day, and I had trouble unlocking the van. So, I called my manager who was on his way to help me unlock the van. Since it was past lunch time, I decided to go ahead and order lunch for my clients until my Manager arrived. When I was placing my order, my manager called to check where I had parked. While I was placing my order, my phone rang. I apologized to the person who took my order as I had to take the call. I used to work in retail (at Macys), and I thought it was rude for customers to be on the phone when trying to help them. And I totally understand her frustration, however, the woman who took my order got mad at me and threw the lunch tray (in my face). I decided to stay calm, and after my phone call I apologized to her and told her that it was rude of her to throw the tray at me when I had to take the call. My clients need one on one attention and I had no choice, but place their orders as we had the problem with our van. While I do understand her frustration, she shouldn't have acted that way. She then accused me of jumping the line. I didn't jump the line, I talked with the two ladies in front of me to check if they were in line. They told me that they were here with their friend who was, at that time, placing an order. The woman thought I jumped the line, which I didn't. I explained that I answered the phone only because I was with the dvelopmentally disabled clients and that we were locked outside of our van. She didn't wait to listen to me, but was rudely interrupting me. She is a blond woman and I told her that I was going to complain about her. She said "go ahead". She is supposed to show respect and courtesy. Very...
Read moreMake sure you check your order before you leave!!! I ordered two 10 piece wings and fries and an order of just wings. I was charged for exactly what I ordered but when I got home…fries were only on one of the plates!!! It was clearly written in the plate, but no fries. I tried calling but no one answered. I did leave a message. I went back today and was told “We have a phone number but no phone”. You would have had to come back the SAME day…there’s nothing I can do (mind you it was after 7 when I got home and they close at 8). Also…they charge you EXTRA if you request 5 flats and 5 drums, or all flats. They probably charge extra if you ask for all drums which I never do, yet I end up with 8 drums and two flats! While the wings are good, the service (or lack thereof) and the extra charges to the already high prices ($1 for half of a wing) will keep me from returning. CHECK your food...
Read moreMarket Delis food is wonderful. I love their sandwiches and wings to death. I would love to eat there... But they have one girl with dark hair in particular who is extremely rude and has a terrible terrible attitude. And it wasn't just something going on that day. I've almost been involved in an altercation with her three times over how unnecessarily awful she was being towards myself and other customers. Also, working at the mall, they have a policy unlike any other restaurant at the food court. We have 30 minutes for our break. If you order wings you will have to wait as they make them to order most of the time anyway. Yet with two cashiers, a separate employee making sandwiches, they still make you go wait behind the person standing at the sandwich counter ordering 6 sandwiches. This eliminates them as a possibility if...
