On March 12, 2019 I placed a curbside order at Arbor Place Mall. Upon receiving my order I notice it was incorrect. I called the store and advised them of the mistake. The owner/operator Lauren McGuire answered, I explained to her that I had paid extra to have the white bun on my club sandwich instead of the wheat one that comes with it. She then gave me the option to 1. Have the runner bring me the white bun and I can switch the buns myself, or 2. Have the runner bring my sandwich back up and they will switch it. At this point my sandwich is cold! Why could she just not offer to give me the correct sandwich that I had ordered?
I decided to go into the mall to have my order corrected. I stood in line and when I reached the cashier I explained to her what had happened. Lauren then rushed over to the register and said that was me you spoke to, why can't you just change the bun yourself? I was in utter disbelief that anyone at Chick Fil A would talk to a customer like this! She then proceeded to shove the wrapper near my face and make it seem as if I had ordered the wrong item, but my mobile receipt shows exactly what I had ordered. I kindly asked if I can please have the correct sandwich, and she angrily told the cook to make me another.
At this point she was still rebuttal towards me and screamed that she will call security on me! At that point I kindly asked the cashier for a refund as I refuse to be spoken to that way!
When I asked the other employee if there was a manger that I can speak to they informed me that she was the owner. In which again she yelled that she is going to call security on me and to leave.
I called corporate and messaged them on Facebook to which they offered me two free sandwiches!! Which to me is very disrespectful. I kindly asked that the owner at least call or email me to apologize as she was very rude and I felt very embarrassed by the whole ordeal.
I live in Douglasville and I take pride in shopping locally. I have patronized this location happily for nearly three years, and our kids schools use them for Spirit nights frequently! I will not patronize this Chick Fil A and I am not sure if I will ever eat Chick Fil A again.
Lauren McGuire is a racist! In this day and time you can not call security or the cops for no reason, especially on people of color. Now had I been unruly or abrasive I would understand her calling for help. Her whole staff just stood there with their heads down in disbelief as she belittled me over a sandwich that she got wrong! And for her to not even apologize is sickening!!
I will never forget the treatment I received that day. In my whole existence I have never been arrested or had security called on me. I was truly petrified of what could have happened should the cops or...
Read moreThere many similar restaurants out there to Chick-fil-A, you can see them almost everywhere which is a downfall for many businesses as the logo can be the same but the people are not and what make something successful is not the location, service, or brand as these only help what truly matters is the people.
Most restaurants who open chains lose not risk but lose customers as the open more and more branches the reason would be quality control. You can have the same recipes, rules, and structure as each other. However, those are just guidelines and it require the right people to properly bring out those benefits creating it own aura.
When I go to Chick-fil-A regardless of it location I come and go feeling relaxed and insured that everything Is right. Unlike most restaurants where people will have there favorite location to go "Services are better here" or " it's fully cook there " I have heard others say ( including myself) I had never had that problem out of all the time I went to Chick-fil-A I could comfortably order and chat away with their staff while wait for the food not having to pull to the side after getting my food to check if it is all there and never having to complain when trying a new location that their a sudden drop in flavor on how it supposed to taste just prove the quality and care put into their work.
Especially during covid although we can no longer come and dine in they come out side to us making a multi lane drive through with each masked, uniform, coat they stand against the outside weather while we in the warmth of our vehicles. Each holding their own order/billing tablets and receipt dispensers which surely wasn't cheap considering all their different locations and staff.
Having once applied to work there one key question you hear early on " Are you a a people person" or " do you enjoy being around others" says alot about their business model.
Although, I never worked there do not know how thing are from employee prospective. Coming from customer angle all I can say is that...
