I went to the Douglasville store to return a 12' flocked slim Xmas tree because it was not slim enough and the white flocked part was all over my clean floors. When I attempted to put the tree in my car the Bo's tilted and the entire box turn side ways and the tree parts fell out & the box tore. So upon my arrival my sister found a guy named Mike to assist. I explained what happened & he said hold on. I thought that he went to get a flat bed but instead he went to a manager & made it seem like I was not being honest. So when he returns his attitude was less than pleasant. He got a little rude and he said I am not going to take this tree in because I have to wait until the manager comes. He never explained to me the situation until I said why didn't you bring the flat bed. He just started treating me nasty & it felt like he really thought that I had done something illegal. The manager came and I explained my situation & I told her that I have the same card and the transaction on my bank account. The manager actually said to me that she could clearly see that it was a new tree and never even spread apart. Then when they swiped my card the transaction pulled up quickly and the transaction was returned. I never ever had a problem at HOBLOB but this guy Mike, young, no smiles at all is not the norm. Usually you get impeccable service. This boy is clearly judging people based on appearances. He does not at all display the warm, helpful and Christian attitude and demeanor that is typically displayed at HOBLOB! The manager apologized for his behavior and I accept the apology but still felt that it was necessary to document his...
Read moreI had a terrible experience for the most part here. I went even though I read some reviews that weren't so good.
Basically I was exchanging a chalkboard, when I removed some of the paper & noticed it had dents. I went back to the store to exchange it but before I asked to exchange it I went to the back to make sure some of them were dented as well. The older African American manager seemed as if he did not want to exchange it even though it was brand new and half of the paper was still on it. He gave me a hard time, we checked out the other boards & he still told me told me he wasn't exchanging it, he made me feel like I didn't ever want to shop with Hobby Lobby again. He wouldn't exchange my markers either even though I had it and use them because I didn't have a receipt. I mentioned corporate and what do you know he exchanged the board and not the markers. I didn't intend on bringing it back ever but that's not their policy not to return items. He told me he was doing me a favor. I was rolling my eyes in my head...
Read moreMy visit today at this Hobby Lobby location was very uncomfortable and frustrating. Myself and my boyfriend (young African-American couple) came into the store in hopes of looking around to purchase some items. While I waited in line, my boyfriend went to pick out something else. A woman, the manager I assume, asked him “do you want to make a quick purchase?” He was a bit confused because he was not in the checkout line. As he came back to stand by me in line, I could see her continuously staring at him. On top of that, she did not say ANYTHING to the other customers. As a loyal Hobby Lobby customer, we did not appreciate the discriminatory “customer service”, especially from a manager. I understand taking precautions, but if you are, make sure you are not making your customers feel uncomfortable in the process. A simple “how are you?” or “do you need any help?” would have been a...
