They always have good food. My hubby and I come here often and tend to sit at the bar. Our past two visits have been OK being that they seem to take forever to greet you, and everything else such as making drinks and cleaning tables, seems to be more important than at least saying "hello I'll be right with you." We've had Carlos as our server twice and once he gets to you, he's very nice and is a decent server. Well this last time( Sunday, 3/19/17 ) we were at the bar almost 15 whole minutes before I asked one of the bussers for water. They weren't busy, there were no tables behind us and only two others at the bar so I don't understand the slow poking. Shortly after, the manager came over and said oh you haven't been greeted yet we say no. She gets us water and offers us a cheese dip for waiting, I don't care for the queso but my husband does and accepted. Manager was very sweet and on top of everything. We enjoyed our food and everything was great, until the bill came. We asked why we were charged for the cheese when she offered it to us for waiting and they say well cheese is never free at a Mexican restaurant. Not only do I know that but I didn't appreciate the smart aleky tone. Sure it's not and I'm not a dumbass no appetizer is free but being that we waited so long for service and the MANAGER ASKING if we would like some for waiting, we didn't feel it should have been charged. Long story short we didn't make a big fuss about it and paid our bill. We fine dine quite often so believe me when I say the bill total was no issue, we like cheap food every now and then. It's the principle that we were offered it FOR WAITING, not asked "hey would you like an appetizer"....I was a server for several years as well as a bartender and currently a caterer, I know great service and I don't feel this past experience that I received it. Any other place would have just corrected the error but they didn't want to talk to a manager nor just say ok we apologize. I never go looking for free anything but when you're wrong you're wrong and you shouldn't have apologized to us for waiting so long and offering us some cheese for it if you were just going to charge it. Had I known I would've chose an appetizer I actually like. Needless to say, we will be very cautious the next time we are here because it seems they don't care if they're in the wrong or not or whether they give...

well your atmosphere is great. the lighting is dim, warm and inviting. The service was great as well, prompt drinks, short wait time for food. So my issue is not with the servers. No, the issue is with your kitchen and management staff.
Today i came in with friends, I ordered the Texas most wanted (available with 2 sides). I asked my waiter if the house salad (as a side) came with avocado ( which it did). I requested my salad to have the avocado left off due to a serious food allergy ( and by allergy, i mean life threatening allergic). Eventually i got my food and started to eat. i must say the steak and shrimp were cooked perfectly. Well, finally i made my way around to the salad. At, first glance, i saw no avocado so i took a bite. immediately after taking that bite i look down and what do i see? Avocado, a sizable chunk, enough to cause an allergic reaction. From the placement of the piece i can safely say that avocado was put on my salad and then removed, which would still contaminate an entire section of the dish...... unacceptable to serve to someone with a serious food allergy. i immediately spit my bite out into a napkin, hoping i hadn't ingested enough to hurt me. i informed my waiter ( who did a great job by the way). he profusely apologized and informed his manager. so what was the managers solution? I'm glad you asked..... the solution was to take $7 off my total bill ( of $40). SEVEN DOLLARS for a potential life threatening slip up. i would have expected a better solution and a more professional outcome to such an incident which could have put me in the hospital at the very least. the kitchen staff of such a reputable restaurant should be competent enough to know better than to serve a contaminated dish to a customer. so no i do not recommend this restaurant. i give it 2 stars and will never...
Read moreI walked in at 10:05pm because I got off work early from my night shift and it was my mom’s birthday so I decided to take her out for some margaritas since my brother had just taken her out to wasabi around the corner. Upon entering the door around 10:05pm we were ignored and greeted with rude stares of disdain by the employees and then suddenly an energetic polite young lady whom I assume is the hostess emerges on the scene out of nowhere as I ask her for a “table for two please” she then responds with “we are not serving right now “ and I look at my watch and ask “so you don’t close at 10:30 according to google?” And she looks back at the kitchen and nods in that direction as I mutter “is it because of Covid hours in place? “ And she says “no, it’s because they closed the kitchen.” I look over to the bar to see that it’s still open and I state “well we only came for drinks, can we sit at the bar until 10:30?” The young lady politely smiles and says sorry we’re closed now. And immediately I felt as though we were being disregarded as customers and felt like a sudden burden and problem to the very establishment I chose to spend money with as well as celebrate a cherishable moment with simple drinks. Even though we were rejected at Blue Agave whom I will not continue business with nor refer friends nor acquaintances or listeners to my internet radio show to; the night was saved as we were greeted with genuine kindness and hospitality as we arrived around 10:15 pm ten minutes later to Monterrey Mexican restaurant (as they closed at 10:45pm) and were treated with hospitality and served within 5 minutes of arrival. Customer service is always consistent and persistent at Monterrey; a much better establishment with focus and attention on customer value and...
