Me and my family took my baby to the ER a few days ago and I had the WORST service ever! He had a fever at 102.1 and then we waited 6 hours to be seen! Since only one person is allowed to be with a patient, I was only able to be with him. I got checked in around 7 and he got Motrin to lower his fever. Then waited at the other waiting room by the exit door. He was fine for two hours but then we went to the restroom and came out and then he started crying and didn't stop for an hour. I went to the front to ask how long is it going to take to get seen. It was already past 9 and he said "soon." My son wasn't feeling well and he's an infant. I didn't know how to calm him down and I'm pregnant so it hurt my stomach to carry him and calm him down because of his weight. I called my mom and asked her to come. I asked the front again if my mom could come to help me and he said yes. So, my mom came in and helped me. He eventually calmed down and went to sleep until we got called. It was past 12 AM, close to 1. The doctor took us to a negative Covid-19 area and I was so upset. The doctor checked his body and said that he was fine. Then she DIDN'T take a test because she said that he was going to feel "very uncomfortable." I understand how uncomfortable it is because I took a test myself, but still. She should've done her job right and taken his test. She then ASSUMED that he was positive and that me and him have to stay home in quarantine for 14 days. He was NEVER tested and I went to take a test because I was terrified. I don't know how a doctor could look into my eyes and say that it's a possibility that he has the virus. I was crying when she left the room. Praying to God that my son is okay and doesn't have anything. Two days later, his fever went away and he's back to normal. I've been taking his temperature daily and he's fine. I'm still upset about what happened and I'm thinking of going to a different hospital for my...
Read moreMy experience with E R reprehensible!!! The security would let me in with my wife in the ER they said one parent with the child. There is no rule stating that because I looked it up and there are no rules or regulations posted other than what is out side⌠I asked all security from ALLIED AEVUTOTY COMPANY TO show me where does it say that in the hand book and all they kept saying is thatâs what we are told that is ridiculous and absurd!! They should all know rules and regulations about Kaiser before rejected me until my daughter â gets a room â!! All Kaiser is going to say is we will forward your comment to the appropriate people which is garbage!! Then we get told we have to wait for COVID or flu tests to come back to see where we can go from there!!! Mind you she has a temperature of 103+ and they never took out blood.. Tylenol doesnât work and I gave her Motrin at 830 am it is now 2 pm and they barely gave her meds and said letâs see what the meds do while she screaming her head off because she has a fever.. we took her to urgent care the night before and they said if it continues to take her to E R!! We have been waiting for over 2 months to schedule a surgery for her tonsils already went to a specialist and audiology they also agreed on surgery but once again waiting! Whatâs there to wait about if she needs surgery like your specialists said then do it !! Lack of care all around I bet Iâm not alone!! I donât have medical I have insurance through the union so they have their money up front!! All they care about is money money money and not the well being of any one !! Thatâs why they got sued from a previous nurse and one 42 million dollars !! Itâs public record look it up but Kaiser doesnât want any one to know...
Read moreI'm giving 3 stars because of how phenomenal and kind staff was after I was admitted in... almost 5 hours later. I felt horrible and embarrassed in the waiting room. It didn't feel like an EMERGENCY ROOM. Everyone was just sitting still in their phones or looking sad while I'm squirming all over my seat in pain. I hurled in the parking lot, hurled in the waiting room, and hurled outside on the cold bench around 2AM. I had severe abdominal pain, worst pain I have ever felt in my life, im grunting loudly. I go to the guy opening the doors calling people for a little advice and info after the lady in the front said i can go to him because i told her the pain is unbearable, first and only thing I say, "excuse me sorry, I'm in tremendous pain and I just wanna know if theres anything I can do" (I asked earlier how much was the wait I was told 4 hours and it was roughly spot on idk I was out of it)
He coldly tells me to sit back down. Coldly. Anyone whose been here will already know how irrationally rude they are. He needs to actively listen and not assume. I wasn't being mean or telling any of them to hurry. I understand they can be overwhelmed but that does not take away from my experience. I swear to my god I didn't mean anything by it either, sincere question with a little concern.
In short being after being admitted it went smooth, turns out i had an inflamed gallbladder with gallstones. They ended up removing it. The waiting room though, that was excruciating, painful, soul sucking, disheartening experience. By 3am I legit thought I was gonna die on that bench. I don't know if emergency rooms get any better than this but the waiting room at Kaiser Downey is Hell...
