Horrible experience! As i was paying for my things a short guy came up to me looking kinda hostile and asked me if i want to pay for the soldering tips i had grabbed.. i told him i put them back, offered to empty my pockets but he just told me to not come back to that store. I told him go look again and he did and instead of an apology he continued about not coming back to that store because i had concealed the package of 2 soldering tips in my hand behind the phone i was carrying and texting my gf with. I didnt have a cart and i had also been carrying a small bag of bolts and a can of spider killer spray.. i dont quite understand this guys issue but i clearly wasnt trying to take anything. This actually happened once in san francisco to me as well but thats a longer story. I dont like the fact that these people think i look like a thief and watch my every step in the store but i guess i fit their profile :( wont be going back to that store which hurts cuz i love ace hardware way more than home depot and just about as much as lowes... :(
Edit: forgot to mention in case anybody likes to be asked 15 times if they need any help they are very helpful every single person on every aisle will ask you if you need help with anything seems like a little much to me but maybe it was just me they were...
Read moreBeware of this stores "NO RETURN POLICY ".
Even though their corporate policy is 30 day. This store refused to honor the policy. Here is what happened I bought a gas trimmer, used it once and was not satisfied with performance. Went in store to return it (in couple weeks), they flat out refused. I can understand that as these folks are fairly new and too many returns would hurt their business. And me especially living right across I would definitely love to support them.
So I asked for alternatives: a.) Can I get a store credit: answer was NO b.) Sir can I upgrade to another trimmer that is pricier: answer was NO c.) I really hate this product, I will just have to sell it in craigs list for 50% discount; do I have any other options: The manager turned into a robot and flat out refused.
Talk about customer service, this store would "ACE" it. I had used this store for all my needs against my better judgement to shop in Big Box stores that are couple miles away. There goes...
Read moreTerrible return polices and was treated with disrespect. I went to return a $2 item that was hand picked from the shelf by one of their employees. It only sat on my counter until I returned it 2 weeks later. When I went to return it, they said they could not accept it because it was opened. When I looked at a new product it did appear to be ‘taped’ however the manager wouldn’t give me the benefit of the doubt for such an inexpensive policy. If they have such a policy then they shouldn’t be resolving opened items. Now I paid for it and was treated as less than. Previous returns were also painful where anything over $50 required manager approval for an item clearly defect. It is too bad. Was so happy to have a hardware store nearby, but given the nature of home improvement needing regular returns and the always I was treated I’ll avoid shopping here and go somewhere I can trust and be...
