I love visiting this little store every time we are in the Outer Banks. I always find something unique to purchase either for myself or for friends back home. The staff are super friendly, always offer to keep my treasures at the counter so I can continue to browse and my pup is allowed to come in as well. So why the three stars? This year they had something I thought was a great idea, “Blind Date with a Game”, a brown paper wrapped package with a hint about what kind of board game was enclosed and the suggested ages. I was so excited to purchase two of them to offer as prizes at a Board Game Retreat that I was hosting. $30.00 each seemed like a good deal. Well, we presented these at the retreat tonight to find that they are USED GAMES!! Ones that you could get at a yard sale for $2.00. So disappointed that they would sell something like this without a disclaimer. Would be different it if was a thrift store but not somewhere that has other high quality merchandise....
Read moreMy husband and I shopped there yesterday, not too long before their closing time (without realizing it). We loved their curated selection of merchandise. While some of the prices might be higher than at the cheap discounted souvenir shops, it seems that they offer quality merchandise, but also more unique. But overall, everything was reasonably priced. We also prefer to support local businesses, and it was nice to chat with the owners. They were quite patient, especially as I interrupted my shopping to run back outside to admire the sunset and take pictures. This was a great experience and we'll definitely go back to Duc's General Store next time...

We got some amazing unique items that you couldn’t find anywhere else. I’m a big sucker for locally made items and this place had them.
