Coastal Cantina in Duck, NC 🍸🍺🌮🌶️👙🕶️🚤💃🎉 I finally got a chance to check this place out for the first time with one of my best friends, Shawn. I understand why my friend enjoys going here now! Coastal Cantina is like finding pearl in an oyster surprise. I loved everything from the view of being on the water outside at a wooden picnic table to the colorful inside with a beachy display of pictures and decore on the walls. In the breezeway, the combination of reading the hand signed tiles on the bar top while sitting on the piling rope handmade bar stools and listening to the music made me feel like I had no worries!! The fresh salt air breeze made this location perfect! We visited on the Restaurant's last opening day (for the summer) & I was pleasantly surprised to have a few 1¢ Corona drafts and some tasty tacos! 🍺🌮👏 Coastal Cantina was running a few amazing specials that day offering frozen margaritas, menu deals and a large variety of drafts for a penny a glass. What an awesome way to give back some appreciation to their loyal locals that support them as they closed out their 2018 summer season with a huge party, well done!! 😂🍻💃🌶️👏 Coastal Cantina is a relaxing place to have lunch after taking a walk through the variety of locally owned eclectic shops that surround it. Awesome view sitting in the sun and relaxing on their huge deck that overlooks the sound in Duck, NC. By water, this restaurant is very easy to access their dock from your boat by pulling right up feet away so you can belly up to the bar for a couple drinks or grab something tasty. Great atmosphere and staff & very clean, need I say more... I will be back (hopefully with my friends next summer by boat next time). The food was hot, fresh and taste great even on their last day of the season. Extra directions... °Locals.. very easy to spot from the Duck sound when pulling up. °Google searchers by car... you can't spot the restaurant from the road so park towards the middle part of the parking lot. Then walk to the middle back part of the shops & go all the way around to the back side (more towards the left side) to the deck at the boat dock. I hope you enjoy this place too! °PLEASE drop me a like 👍 if this helped or you like the pictures, It helps me know that I've helped....
Read moreWe were pleasantly surprised by Coastal Cantina when we visited during our annual visit in June--we came for the location and the food stole the show. They manage to hit pretty close to Baja--definitely the best and most authentic Mexican food we've found in OBX. Hope they haven't turned into a deli--I'm sure it good but Duck nerds waterfront options like the cantina
The spot is gorgeous! They're on the back of the Duck Waterfront Shops (south end), so you can enjoy panoramic sound side views and breezes. The place is small and casual--all outdoor seating on the water and in the breezeway, plus two bar windows give a beach bar vibe. We tried the crab "pizzadilla" (open face quesadilla--be aware the special sauce is mayo--much tastier without it) and shrimp quesadilla. Both featured really fresh seafood and fresh veggies and herbs as well as a really excellent fresh flour tortilla. Cheese was cheesy and hot, though the inclusion of cheddar definitely takes things to a little more of a Cali-Mex place. The house made salsa was a lightly smoky Rojo with just a little heat--we spread it on our kekas as well.
The frozen margaritas were on point--perfect for the hot day. They also have live music on the deck and a fairly wide selection of draft beers, including local and...
Read moreThe Coastal Cantina is an experience that is as much about the atmosphere as the food, drinks, and company. Nestled on a little corner within the Waterfront Shops of Duck, North Carolina, it overlooks the sound side of the Outer Banks. The panoramic view over the water and the mild salty breeze remind you that you're at the beach and the pace of life slows down a bit so you can relax and take it all in. There are maybe 10 seats that surround the corner bar area and a few picnic tables immediately next to the bar if you have a larger group. This was the second year that I have made my way to the cantina, and I'm on my way to making it a solo tradition for my annual trip with friends to OBX. There are several beers on tap and some are local. Chips and savory salsa are provided to all of the bar patrons. The menu is not huge but offers a wide variety of Mexican inspired foods, including quesadillas and tacos. I ordered the Mahi tacos with Jicama Slaw and Chili Lime Mayo. Two tacos come with the order and they are fresh and so tasty. The staff is very friendly and appreciate the visitors who change weekly with the vacation rentals. I'm looking forward to going back for year 3...
