D&K Suit City — Local services in Duluth

Before I get into my review I just want to let you know that I am a student and I was looking for a suit I could wear at the career fair. This event is EVERYTHING and Adrian(The Sales Assistant) and Nga(The Tailor) has done PERFECTLY to serve me as a customer. I will always buy a suit here and will happily refer all my friends at school to buy their suits here. The service and quality you get here are a DEAL. GO DAWGS!!

I didn't really know where to buy a suit or how to buy one. So, I searched the web and found D&K Suit City. I looked at the review and found that all of them were great. At first, I was skeptical about this place because the location is basically in Santa Fe Mall and because of this I had low expectations because I never heard of this mall before and it didn't look so great, so I assumed the same for D&K Suit City. I WAS TOTALLY WRONG ABOUT THIS.

D&K Suit City is VERY underrated due to its location and I assume that a lot of people initially will feel the same way as I did and in hoping that they will read this and know that they aren't the only one feeling that way. And that they should TOTALLY give this place a shot.

Adrian(The Sales Assistant) is VERY helpful. Adrian noticed that I needed help and provided me with tips on what to do. He found my size and gave me the opportunity to shop by my self to find what color I like and what type of suit I wanted. He then gave me tips on what was good and what was bad and then when he knew what I wanted; He went out of his way to find what I was looking for; A PERFECT suit. He is quick, very talented, and will give you his honest opinion on what works and what doesn't.

Nga(The Tailor) is the kindest and happiest person you will ever meet. She might now show it; but believe me it shows in her work. After Adrian helped me get my suits; Nga tailored it to perfection. She loves her job and will give you her best work. She is efficient and perfect in her skills. From now on, if I ever need a tailor for ANYTHING; Nga is going to be the first person I go to.

The only tip I would give to you guys is that don't be afraid to speak up. They won't know what is wrong unless you say something. Make sure to let them know how you feel about the suit and how you want to modify/tailor it. They will let you know what works and what doesn't. Adrian was just fantastic. This was my first experience assisting with picking out a suit, I came to help my boyfriend pick a suit for a funeral and Adrian made the experience absolutely amazing.

Shortly after walking in and glancing around we were asked if we needed any assistance. We explained the reason why we came in for the suit, a funeral and he offered his condolences. After I found a few suits I liked I asked him to check that they were slim fit which is what my boyfriend likes. I found about 5 and he rolled them over in a rack. He answered any and every question we could think of. He helped me find a variety of suits for my boyfriend to try. He was there to answer questions every step of the process. We ended up purchasing a suit, shirt, tie, shoes and belt. The suit needed to be hemmed and he took the measurements and scheduled for when we could pick up the suit since we had other errands. He personally picked out a few ties that he thought we would like. He provided opinions and tips about the suit fit and what worked best for my boyfriends body type. He showed us both how to fold the pants so they wouldn't need to be ironed everytime he was ready to wear them. He was there to help every step of the way. If I ever had a question he wasn't far at all. There are so many suits which can be overwhelming but he made the whole experience smooth and easy. My husband and I are attending a business gala in San Diego next week. He decided that it would be most cost effective to purchase a tuxedo for the event instead of renting. His first thought was to go to K&G in Duluth. Upon our arrival we could not find the sizes he needed and when we asked the tailor for help he briskly sent us to the front desk stating that he “did not help with that.” Upon arrival to the front desk the cashier snidely remarked “You better get a backup plan” after she scanned the trousers and could not locate another K&G store with the appropriate size. She handed the trousers to us to return to the floor with a dismissive smile. We arrived to D&K Suit City in Duluth unsure of what to expect. We found a classic tuxedo in the appropriate size and was greeted by Adrien. A gentleman that also happened to be one of the tailors at D&K in Duluth. From the moment he greeted us, he took responsibility for our experience. Adrien allowed us to develop the look my husband needed while gently providing suggestions lead by years of knowledge and expertise that provided the “perfect” overall classic formal look.
