This was one of the most upsetting dining experiences I’ve ever had, and I feel deeply disrespected and targeted. As a Black customer, I expected the same basic courtesy any guest should receive, but from the moment we arrived, the treatment we received was discriminatory, unwelcoming, and outright offensive. There was no greeting just a cold “how many,” while we watched other customers of different races being welcomed warmly with smiles and proper hospitality. We were followed to the restroom as if we were trying to leave without paying, even though our food was still on the table, and we had not finished eating. This profiling was humiliating and completely unwarranted. To make matters worse, we found a hair in the food. We were told we couldn’t continue eating and had to pay despite the food being labeled clearly as dinner and us making it known that paying was not a problem. Their behavior made it very clear we were not welcome there because we’re Black. The energy, the stares, the whispers, the dismissive tone it was all a blatant act of racism and prejudice. No one deserves to be treated like this. We left feeling sick, not just from the food, which upset our stomach, but from the sheer disrespect and violation of basic human decency. I will never return, and I strongly urge other Black patrons to reconsider supporting a business that shows such clear racial bias and mistreatment. It has been remodeled and seems to be owned by the same company that owns the Golden Apple in Snellville. I wasn’t surprised at how filthy everything was once I saw that they are most likely ran by the same people. The one in Snellville recently failed their health inspection. And I wouldn’t be surprised if they failed theirs too. We had to dig through the stack of “clean” plates because they still had food on them and were dirty. Workers did not have gloves on while serving the food. Line cooks working the hibachi also mixed your food with other people food. I found a piece of watermelon in the raw meat.
