I visited this shop excited to try both the drinks and donuts. The donuts were amazing — fresh, flavorful, and absolutely worth returning for. I even filmed a few clips for social media because the vibe started off great.
I ordered two brown sugar milk teas, one for myself and one for my daughter. The cashier told me they were out of pearls, which I said was okay. Then she asked, “Would you still like it without the pearls?” and I said sure, trusting the drink would still be balanced.
At first, I thought maybe the sweetness from the donuts was affecting my taste, so I walked around the plaza with my drink. But as the sugar buzz faded, I realized the drinks didn’t perform like a proper boba tea — and I am an avid boba tea drinker. The drinks tasted like molasses — bitter, not sweet — and left an unpleasant aftertaste. It was more like sweetened milk with thick syrup settled at the bottom, no real tea flavor, and it wouldn’t mix no matter how much we stirred. It just felt off — like the drink wasn’t fully made.
We stayed at the counter, and I calmly let the cashier know the drinks didn’t taste right. After tasting them, I asked if I could get a refund since they weren’t drinkable. I was told that refunds were not available, which I understood. So instead, I chose a different drink without boba or brown sugar — the sangria — which was much better.
However, the way the situation was handled still left me feeling uncomfortable. While we stood there, I could hear the cashier explaining the issue to a coworker in a low voice — not away from customers, but while glancing at me and smiling. It didn’t feel genuine — it felt awkward and performative. Another customer even glanced over, sensing the tension. And when the new drinks were ready, they were pushed toward me on the counter rather than handed over directly. It’s small, but those things add up.
I don’t usually leave reviews like this, but I think it’s important to speak up — respectfully. The donuts are truly great, and the sangria was a solid drink. But the customer service felt dismissive, and made me feel like I was doing something wrong just for expecting what I paid for.
Final thoughts: ✅ Donuts: fantastic ✅ Sangria: refreshing ❌ Drink quality overall was disappointing ❌ Customer service lacked maturity and made an already uncomfortable...
Read moreI am leaving 1 star based on the customer service here. The donuts are awesome but your cashiers are frustrating. For anyone reading, please keep in mind they have more donuts in the back. Even if they are out of donuts up front in the displays, they still have more in the back. And the cashiers will lie about it, it’s not so hard to ask your coworkers or be honest to the customers.
I came in early afternoon to buy some donuts, and when I got there, you guys were almost sold out. I saw the workers in the back preparing more donuts, and when I got to the cashier, I asked if you guys would be bringing out more donuts and that we would be happy to wait. The lady gave me an attitude and said no that’s all they had, so I got a couple of donuts based on what you already had out on display.
As I was paying for the donuts, the other workers in the back brought out several brand new trays of donuts and refilled the displays. When I asked the cashier about the donuts when she told me there wasn’t anymore, she was unapologetic. I asked if I could switch the donuts I had picked, and this was before I even touched the box, and she said no. I asked her if I could buy a couple of the new donuts they brought out and she gave me an attitude.
Gold Bunny Donuts gives both a free drink and a discount after you buy a specific number of donuts. I ended up buying over 6 donuts and the cashier didn’t want to give me a free drink or discount because it was a split transaction.
I honestly used to love this place because you have the best donuts and were very friendly, please fix this and train...
Read moreI came to Gold Bunny Donut close to when they first opened, and I proceeded to go 3 more times that week!
I got 3 different varieties of their matcha cream donut; when I spoke to the cashiers, they told me they were still R&Ding different donuts to gauge popularity of recipes. Nonetheless, each variation of the matcha donut was delicious! The cream was so fluffy and light; the donuts I took home I toasted in my airfryer, having the powdered sugar melt into the bun and making it extra crispy and a little caramelized. I also got their ube, passionfruit, apple crisp, and tiramisu donuts. The ube one was my favorite toasted, and Gold Bunny does a great job incorporating the ube flavor into their recipe while maintaining the coveted purple color of ube. The passionfruit donut was sweet and tart, the best version of a choux you could ask for. My partner said the apple pie donut was phenomenal warmed up, perfect portion size. The tiramisu was what you'd expect but not at all disappointing. I also think it's pretty neat that their donut options rotate so you can experience something new every time you go.
The place is small but accommodates everything a customer could ask for: wifi, restrooms, some seating, and exceptional service. I actually went so frequently when they first opened that I had the same cashier the first 2-3 times. These girls were so sweet and energetic, and I really appreciated their recommendations because there was a whole lot to choose from. I would love to come again and try their...
