Went to buy a Nintendo switch with my dad and an employee helped me because I know very little about them. He was very helpful and got me set up with everything I wanted/needed. I walked away happy āŗ Turns out... he sold me a family membership expansion pack(80$) when I only needed a individual membership since it's just me. (Extra 45$) He said I would get games with it that I didnt. (Some old games are included) It included "expansion packs" for those games(extras IF you already have the games). I wanted mario kart deluxe 8 specifically and he said if I bought a separate card(25$) combined with the family membership that I would have mario kart instead of having to buy the full game(60$). Turns out it was ANOTHER expansion pack(would get extra courses IF I already had the game) which ALREADY CAME WITH MY MEMBERSHIP (that I didn't need). So I had 2 expansion packs for mario kart and no mario kart. Side note he kept the physical cards with the details for family membership and mario kart. When I reached for them he grabbed them and said they don't give those just the code on the receipt. Which was fine I thought since he helped me pick them and explained what I would get. Would've been nice to have something to look at to double check. There is a scratch off area with a code on back of the cards. You're supposed to get the card like with any other card like that. I bought the warranty for the Nintendo switch, he explained what it covered, I asked some questions, and he gave me a little sticker for it? I asked for the written details and he said it was emailed to me. NOPE! And I've been told I can't get a written copy at all. So I just go on his word and I'm suppose to use that if they say something isn't covered in the future. "Well he said blah blah.." And I'd like to be able to look it over in general to know details. Any other warranty/insurance has a website ect. When ringing me up he mentioned he could sign me up for the store program to get 5% off everything + points and I was like cool and he entered my email ect. Turns out that was 25$!! And it was set up for auto renewal! How are you gonna set my card up to renew something without telling me/asking. Especially something I didnt even know I was paying for! I asked if a remote controller came with the switch and he told me no only the little controls that detatch from the side of the switch. Well it comes with a thing that you put the 2 little side controllers into that functions, looks, and is the same as a controller. I don't even know what to call it..a scam? He VERY MUCH acted like he knew all about everything so was he lying? Just a jerk? I don't know but wow!! His name was Johnathan. The supervisor was rude when I called. Sent me to wrong customer service people, was talking to someone else at one point, and LOUDLY taping up boxes(I'm guessing, that's what it sounded like). Could've cared less and passed me off to customer service. The manager should adleast talk about it with me? Or try to help? Talk to his employee?
I went to a couple stores comparing prices and asking if someone could help me. I got my stuff there even though i couldve gotten a better deal elsewhere because there was someone who could actually helped me get what I needed and explain stuff.
Been dealing with customer service and won't have to deal with that...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI'm never going to this location ever again. My experience from several weeks ago: I walk in and there are three employees and no one else in the store. The second I open the door they all simultaneously ask me if I need help finding anything. I reply "No, I'm just looking around". At this point I've literally only stepped one foot in the door. One of them replies "Are you sure we can't help you find something?" To which I reply "Let's all chill out, honestly I just came in to look around." In my defense I had just stopped by a different gamestop, a shopko, and a kwik trip and had been aggressively asked this everywhere I went so I was kind of fatigued from all of this scrutiny. One of them raises his tone and gestures with his arms out towards the surrounding shelves and aisles "Oh really?! You're just going to look around the whole store?!" At that point the store fell silent. Me: "Uhhh yeah..." I proceeded to look around the store, grabbed a game I thought looked decent and even asked one of the other employees about some of the merchandise while I was checking out. The tension was thick the entire time. I'm pretty sure "Can I help you find anything" should be interpreted as "Get out of my store". Overall I felt discriminated against and I'm pretty sure the employees are racist. I get this same question no matter what store I go into these days even if it's just a quick stop to grab a soda from a convenience store. I think it's some kind of upper midwest passive aggressive way of making people of color feel uncomfortable without directly being aggressive. If you don't want us in your stores maybe you should just put a sign out front, apparently thats what things...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI got an Xbox for my birthday at the end of may and it was the wrong one. Later we realized the right one was purchased but the wrong one was given to us. We tried to return within the 7 days and they said we couldnāt. Today we figured out why we got the wrong one and went to exchange it for the right one, the worker noticed the barcodes said it was supposed to be a series s even though it was the Xbox one s. He figured it all out and we left with the right Xbox. Iām very appreciative because he didnāt know if we could you exchange at that point but he still tried and was successful. Thank...
