7 West TapHouse — Restaurant in Duluth

Visited on a Sunday evening at 6 o'clock. The dining room was about 30% full. The server stopped by the table and took our drink order then disappeared for about 5 minutes. A third couple joined us and after a long wait went to the bar and ordered something to drink. The bar was empty. Finally 1 of our drinks was delivered to the table, couple of minutes later the rest of our order (three tap beers) was brought to the table. The food came out in a timely manner and was not bad, but nothing special. The worst thing about the evening was the vile expletive laden music that was blasting over the sound system. One lyric was exceptionally bad with the f-bomb repeated over 10 times followed by m-fer at least twice. The dining room had two families with small children and the parents were stunned. If you like hearing “no, we don’t do that here” this is your place. Everything from wanting extra sour cream on the side of our chips… to asking for juice on the side for my mimosa because I don’t like it super sweet. I think they forget they’re in the service business! I think I heard that phrase 4 times for simple requests. The chips were soggy and cold. My Buffalo cauliflower was swimming in a pool of grease and not edible. The female server (long brown hair) was rude and inattentive. There are so many better places that make you feel welcomed and to spend your money. We most likely won’t be back even though it’s near our house, which is sad. Need more tables for families and groups. Having been my first time trying it, did not know what to expect, and we must have selected a particularly busy day and time. Our small group of six ended up pushing two small round high tops together, just to have a place to sit to eat. The booths looked comfortable though. The food was ok. Nothing really to be excited about. Average burger, not what I hoped for in a black and blue (a blue cheese flavored sauce rather than a wack of blue cheese). I would go back, but watch for A time that was less crowded. I would also encourage just getting rid of the high tops, replace with regular tables, enabling accessibility for seating....
