When it comes to my hair, I love experimenting with different colors, styles, and weaves. However, through all of my transitions, I’m always searching for something fun and professional that is also in the best interest of my hair’s health.

I have been to many salons since I moved to Atlanta Georgia in 2004 looking for the right Hairstylist and doing endless research on the internet for reviews on the best salons only to come up short. I have had my hair colored and cut by other salons and was always disappointed in one way or another. I have not had a relaxer since 2007, but my hair always takes on a life of its own and does whatever it wants to.

I started visiting Pernell at Salon Baptiste at the beginning of 2014 and since then I have seen a significant amount of growth in my hair. My hair is more lively and bouncy. Each time, I visit the salon. Pernell takes time to explain the product she’s using as well as the services she will be performing. She knows how nervous I get when it’s time for a trim, so she works with me and lets me know exactly where she will be trimming.

Pernell is very knowledgeable about hair products as well as hair care and if all of this hasn’t been enough to convince you to visit her….. I would like to start by saying that the lady at the front desk is sweet in person and over the phone. I have natural hair and i was looking for someone to cut and style my hair. I was told over the phone that they had someone there that could do that for me. I arrived and the lady that did my hair assumed I was here for a slik press, didn’t ask me why i was here or the look i was trying to achieve. After clearing the miscommunication up i told her i wanted to cut my hair… it felt like she was more worried about the length than health of my hair.Additionally my hair was cut for a straight style not a curly cut. Over the phone i asked for a wash and go too, i told her in person it seemed like she didn’t know what that was. Then I asked for fingercoils, she grabbed a comb and basically showed it couldn’t be done( i have no product in my hair and my hair dries quickly so it’s definitely not going to work, my hair has been fingercoiled before) with my type of hair it must be coiled with your finger, once again i got the feeling she didn’t want to do that so i agreed on getting a 2 stranded twist. the only product that was used on my hair was mousse so the style lasted for 2 hours, i paid $120. I wish i spoke up but i wanted to see the results first. Absolutely amazing experience from start to finish. I'm from DC so we don't often get charm in our salons here, but at Salon Baptise there is someone always making sure that you are being taken care of. I have traveled down there twice to get my hair done and both times exceeded my expectations. I would fly down there once a month if I could to get my hair done.

The first time I came down I had my hair "accidentally" dyed neon pink (think reflective) by another salon back home and went to Salon Baptise asking for a rose gold. NAILED IT in the first go! I have been wanting that hair color for years and they did it without hesitation! It was so quick! They also care of your hair, they go above and beyond to make sure your hair is healthy when you leave.

Second time I came down I had a lace front made with a custom pink/choral/blonde ombre. Once again, NAILED IT! Everything there is so affordable! I wear my wig all the time. Most people think I actually dyed my hair those colors because they can't see the lace from an arm's length in distance.

Let's talk about the shop! The shop is huge, there's no crowding for dryers or shampoo bowls. It's always clean and neat.
