I enjoyed this store for a long time I myself love collecting antiques. My mom and I would come here all the time when I visited. Recently I made two separate visits the first was fine and I enjoyed browsing. However the second time I went to the store and browsed for some time looking for nothing particular just seeing what caught my eye. When I found two items I was interested I came to the front to purchase as I always have. Upon reaching the front I was met by three police officers whom management had called on me for being a quote “suspicious individual”. Essentially I was profiled as being a thief though I have never committed a crime in all my life. Why they did not even come up to me or talk to me I’m sure I don’t understand. I was in there for quite some time and not one person at the front had acknowledged or commented any concerns to me which I would’ve gladly cooperated, instead if your browsing picking up items to inspect they will automatically assume your shoplifting and call the police. Five police cars showed up for this incident which seemed completely unnecessary given they made no effort to talk to me and not once was there any apology or any recourse for how I was treated. It’s a shame because I loved going here and finding unique antiques but the lady that called the police on me needs to learn how to interact with customers and not profile people off of assumption or a gut feeling because what could’ve been a more appropriate response to someone you have suspicion for is to simply ask them instead of calling half the duncanville police department to come and investigate a...
Read moreI went into this location to help my daughter find some things to redecorate her and Connie the manager told her to leave her purse at the counter. She was in the process of purchasing her items and told her that her purse was not allowed. I tried to be a forgiving Christian and give them a second chance when they asked my son who is a minor to stay outside in the cold while my husband and I shop. What kind of parent will leave an unaccompanied minor outside unattended while the parents spend money in their establishment. She has us followed every time we come into the store. Despite her acts, I have purchased several large furniture items and she will not allow any of her workers to help me load the items. I’m completely fed up with Connie and her acts of prejudice behavior and plan to protest this establishment. I hate the other employees have to suffer on Connie’s behave. But I pray that Connie will understand that her actions are unfair and unjust. That she will think twice about her actions and...
Read moreMy family and friends frequently shop at Knick Knacks for hidden treasures and we are normally very happy with our experience and the customerservice. My most recent experience has caused me to decide NEVER to shop here again and to spread the word about it. I saw a dining set when I was in the store right before closing. I made a down payment on it as they were printing the tag. I went home to find that my husband had actually purchased a dining set and set it up to surprise me. I called the store shortly after they opened to see if it would be possible to work out store credit or anything else. I was told that all sales are final and the deposit is not refundable and all I could do is cancel the layaway. I respect the rights you have as a store to decide to not consider your customers situation in order to keep their money and will NEVER give you the option again as a consumer at your mercy, I will also...
