8:39pm - Sat. Oct 15th Karen, the older black woman working self check out gave me and my friend the hardest time checking out, and was unnecessarily rude. We shopped and headed to the first register on the right where we allowed a person to go into front of us while my friend stopped to decide another form of payment before scanning the groceries because Karen said that "the machine weren't TAKING cash". We scanned the groceries, paid with a debit card and the machine allowed her to select getting $40 cash back. The machine processed the payment for the groceries but stopped, not being able to release the $40 cash back. An honest mistake made. But we asked Karen for help and explained what happened only for Karen to be condensing repeatedly saying "I already told you that but I already told you that" switching her words from "this machine isn't taking money" to "this machine is GIVING money back". My friend being a little agitated at the lack of help from Karen; Karen then tries to turn the tables back on my friend, saying that she was being rude. Karen tried to call security on my friend for walking towards the front door with her PAID FOR groceries. Out of the three of us, I tried to be the most level-headed and decided ask the security guard for "the guy in the gray shirt, who appeared to be the manager". I walked the store to find the manager and found Sean back in the dairy section. I stopped and explained to Sean what happened and that we just needed a receipt for proof that 1. The groceries were paid for. (The payment was accepted) 2. That she was owed $40 cashback 3. And hopefully have a smooth transition the next day when customer care is open to receive the cashback. I walked behind him back to the register. He approached the register and asked Karen if the machine could print a receipt, she then sharply cuts Sean off and said the machine is frozen. "I am the only one here, I am the manager and they are gonna have to come back tomorrow". Completely unprofessional. We frequent this Kroger location OFTEN, coming from Wilmer specially for the fish selction. Neither of y'all appreciate the way we were treated and the lack of customer service. It was embarrassing! This will be our final time shopping at the Camp Wisdom location. This was a simple mistake that could have been resolved by saying "ma'am, unfortunately as I have stated this machine isn't taking cash and cashback isn't available" but she insisted on being snarly and trying to get us in trouble with security. My friend took a picture of the transaction left on the screen to show to customer care tomorrow (Oct 16th) but I felt it was imperative to get extra professional proof of purchase. The picture is a hand written note from Sean, the floor supervisor that was written standing next to the security guard.

2nd review- This time was better, the store was well stocked and the employees were nice. Im glad i came back, it gave this place another star! ..... Original review-If it wasn't for the rudeness of the closing employees Friday,Sept 27 this review would be alot better. I did arrive 1 hour until closing( say 11:59pm to keep it on that nights employees). The store was clean and I realize it was stocking time but at auto-checkout the 2 only females offered no help. They we're out of plastic bags(no big deal, actually preferred paper after using it for 1st time in decades). The register was doing what those self- checkouts do best: remove item from bagging area even though it was only a paper bag I put on it,lol...but once it got to the point it stops letting me scan items the employee is too busy shutting down registers to help me continue. At this point it's 5mins until closing(1am). I'm holding up the line, etc. Ofcourse the monitor starts flashing " RECORDING" lol...I asked her for help but was being ignored! My son and I ended up being the last customers in the store. I tried using a few manufacturer coupons, $5 off a LG bag of dog food and a few more that would have saved me about 25% of total purchases but for some reason the valid coupons needed her OK which at this point I feel like we're hostages. I even tried to just pay so I could leave but the system was locked. The lack of her customer service kept us there alot longer. Another employee had to unlock the doors to let us out...so this review is just for this day. On usual visits I'd give it 3 stars, nothing special....

This place used to be great to shop at for our business but they started doing certain limits on things. It doesn’t say that online or the weekly AD if that’s the case then put it on there so others don’t waste my time coming here like I did. They were being rude from the beginning making faces at me when I grabbed the first 4 items, & they rolled their eyes at me & talked to each other through the walkies. I speak English too man. The self check out lady by the pharmacy needs a new duty if she’s going to be acting that way. I’m just going to take my business elsewhere because that was ridiculous & then to top it off you’re going to go up to my wife & follow her around? Y’all are so unprofessional, discrimination at it’s finest. I reviewed this place 5 years with a 5 star, today I’m giving them 1.

Ive lived in Duncanville for 12 years so its safe to say im at Kroger alot. Today i wanted to see if this location still had any of the Easter Candle holders on Clearance. I was excited to see they had quite a few left. I grabbed two. They didn't have Clearance tags but i knew i had already bought two of the same style and color at 90% off when they marked all easter down. I get to the register and they ring up full price. I sent the cashier to A manager Terry, to see if hes able to discount them since they are easter. He tells the cashier no that they are summer collection not easter. A quick Google search will pull them up as Easter collection at Kroger. Plus they were all on the Clearance rack ( more than 10 of them). How does a Manager not know what season an item is? He should know inventory and the seasonal set up because they reset the seasonal items regularly, but a customer knows the items by season more than they do? He was so confident that it was Summer collection. I paid for my items and approached him to explain, i asked could i show him where they were on Clearance and he replied im not going over there right now. I said ill go and wait for you there, he replied im not in no rush to come over there. Totally unprofessional. I get he was bagging for someone he could have said, ill be happy to meet you there just give me a gew minutes to finish here. I had the candle holders in my hand. I walked them over and placed them back on the Clearance rack where i found them. Here is the kicker, from where i was on the Clearance isle i can here Terry talking about me to not only the cashier but a customer. His voice is deep and loud. I was humiliated he would do this because i only wanted to show him im not just trying to get an item discounted when it shouldn't be. He stated to the Cashier and Customer " She isnt about to Bogaurd me" which wasnt my intention at all. I walked back to my cart that i left next to him with my purchase inside and said " You know, Your voice is loud and it carries, And i wasn't trying to boguard you" so that he knew that i heard his unprofessional display. I do plan on coming back to speak to another manager and i dont know why but i feel like i need to show them that i was not wrong and the candle holders are in fact easter collection and not summer. And TERRY, if you are reading this, What you did infront of Customers was So unprofessional and not Classy at all. I hope you have the day you deserve for Humiliating me by Talking about me loud enough that i could hear and you know i heard you because I repeated your conversation to you. And i hope your behavior is brought to your attention by corporate and i hope That you are made aware that those candle holders are infact Easter. Everyone isn't trying to get over on you. The point of the Clearance rack is to move items that are out of season. You could have handled this so much better and you deserve a coaching moment on your people skills and customer...
