Beware, especially if you have a new model vehicle!!
Unfortunately, Epic Shine has damaged my brand new truck on two separate occasions. The damage is on the top and the first time I didn’t notice due to the location until about a week later. I contacted them to review their video footage and received a call from their manager. She advised me that they had apparently gotten new camera servers the day before and conveniently, the video from my visit in question was not available. She also promised that it couldn’t have been the carwash that did this damage although there’s nowhere else it could have come from. I gave her the benefit of the doubt and continued to use their service.
On Tuesday I went through the wash and checked afterwards to find identical damage on the opposite side. Same spot on the other side, just a mirror image of the first, so clearly their wash mechanisms are not properly calibrated for all new vehicles and applied too much pressure. I spoke to the manager the next morning and she tried sending a photo of my truck with a random shadow noted in a completely different area saying it was already there. This is their supposed video evidence which is one still frame of the entire video they won't provide. The only pre-existing damage was on the opposite side which they caused as well but conveniently couldn't provide video for since their "servers got updated" at the perfect time. I advised her that the photo in fact shows there was no damage where it actually is and she had just marked a random reflection. I also have time stamped video leaving my home 10 minutes prior showing this damage was not there.
I took my truck for an estimate and the repair center even knew that the wash must have caused it. They told me it wasn’t uncommon with newer model vehicles to be damaged when the wash isn’t updated correctly to recognize a new model. I can’t speak to all that but I do know Epic Shine continues to try and deny responsibility and leave me with a $1700 bill. Insurance will handle the matter but it’s disappointing that Epic Shine has chosen to do business this way. If only the video of the first damage hadn’t conveniently disappeared, perhaps this would have turned out differently.
Be careful using this carwash, especially if you have a new...
Read moreLet me star with I purchased a brand new car less than a week ago. Until today, I had only washed it one other time. After washing, we pull in and dry with the provided towels and vacuum as usual. Today, me and my husband took my car through the Epic at Hwy 55 & State St. During the wash, we heard scratching noises along the side of my car. When we pulled in to dry, we inspected and noticed new scratches along the entire passenger side front and back doors. I brought this to the attention of an employee who took a picture and had a manager come talk to us. The manager Jamie (I believe this was her name but I was extremely frustrated by the end so I may be mistaken) came over and her first communication with me was to say that I was lying. That she had reviewed the camera footage and saw those scratches, as I was pulling into the wash. I rejected that scenario as it was a lie. She then proceeded to say that Lyle Pearson (local car dealership where I purchased my car) will often wax over scratches to hide them but they can be exposed after washing. So now I'm a liar and the local car dealership is too. This seems like a poor way to operate a business. Now the question is, were the scratches on my car according to the camera footage, prior to the was or revealed after exposing the dealership as fraudulent. So frustrated at this point! She then offered to buff the scratches, to which I declined. She claimed to be trying to work with us but after being called a liar and then blaming the dealership, I wanted nothing to do with this company. This isn't working with a customer, it's trying to appease after attacking. It's unfortunate that Epic conducts business in this manner.
July 20th Update… I wanted to provide an update to my previous review. I was contacted by Epic Car Wash and spoke with their Customer Experience Manager. She was very helpful in correcting the damage done to my car. I appreciated the quick response and the professionalism in handling...
Read moreDONT USE! 3 times I have used this car wash and they have sent me away for minor issues, I own a construction company with a fleet of 7 vehicles and every time I try to wash one of my vehicles at this facility they send me away for minor issues, One time asking me to go to the other car wash (across the street) and pre wash my truck because they didn't like how dirty the outside was and wanted me to pay a hand wash then they would let me use theirs(NOT caked on mud, construction build up "dust"), 2nd Time I paid and was waiting in line and one of the service members that pre-washes your truck looked in my bed and noticed that I had left over leaves and refuse me service (had to back up threw everyone and push my way out of line"humilitating") but then never awarded me my refund when I called 2 days later they stated that they could not find the transaction and would not refund me my $15 which I never got back and I never got the service I paid for. Now this time... they kicked me out of line because my mud flaps are attached to my hitch and they wanted me to remove the entire set up before entering, just to much head ache...
