I have a white gold engagement ring. I dont want to ruin it at work, so I had a replica made in silver. I brought it here to be dipped in white gold to look closer to my ring. A woman helped me, I paid $45 to have it dipped and sized. She also showed me wedding bands. When I picked it up, I was happy with the results so I dropped off another ring, that was gold plated, to a man to be dipped and sized. I paid $45 again and was happy with the results. I recently purchased a wedding band to match my ring at the jeweler it was purchased from and just had a replica of my band made to wear to work with my engagement ring. I wanted it dipped so it would match. I brought it here yesterday and the woman behind the counter was very rude and said she couldn't do it. When I asked why, she said it was because it was gold plated. I told her they did my last one and she started arguing with me that they didn't. I said she wasn't here when I dropped it off. The man who helped me was there and agreed that I had just gotten it done. She said no, but she would call the owner for a final answer. She didn't tell whoever she was talking to that they just already did one, she only mentioned the silver one and said they would do it for $75. Just to dip it. After I just paid $45 for dipping and sizing for 2 rings in the last month. I guess she was mad I didn't buy my band there. I went there because it was close to home and they said they do jewelry repair - but never again. I went to another jeweler close by who was able to dip my ring, the same day, it didn't have to be sent out, and was only charged $45. ** I read your response. Unethical and unprofessional worth the warning. Got a bracelet for my girl on Christmas evening. I know cutting it close. Gave the gift on Christmas, upon trying it on it falls apart and breaks at clasp area. Went back today Dec 26th. Owner was super rude wouldn’t except the fact it was a defective item, would only want to replace with something different or give store credit. I was going to take store credit and just report this to my CC. They wrote a new receipt for store credit, but would not give me my original receipt, when I asked for my original receipt for my records (which was a yellow copy they said I can’t have that old receipt since they are writing a new receipt. Totally against Visa, Mastercard or any other merchant, just making rules as they come. When I told her that I will be going through appropriate channels, her attitude changed, and all of a sudden the owners wife personally is now feeling threatened, and when I said you’re selling defective jewelry, she was personally offended by that as well. As soon as the person starts feeling threatened, It’s best to take out your phone, and start recording for your own personal protection against the Karen’s of the world. I had to leave my jewelry and my receipt behind, I was told to leave so I did. Already contacted Chase and someone from Visa will be reaching out to them.
