I was visiting Grand forks over the holidays, and I was looking at a particular rifle and ended up wanting purchasing it, they told me to start filling out the 4473 (Standard background check) and they would go get the firearm from the back. I finished up the paperwork and they had the box, (this part was my fault, I did not look inside the box to verify it was the proper firearm). Anyways once I got home a few days later, I opened the box to look at my new rifle. The problem was it wasn't the same model that I was looking at/holding in the store. Same make and caliber, but slight difference in the magazine feeding mechanism. Sure it was just a mixup in the back with the boxes. I was pretty bum'd out so I called Cabela's to resolve the issue, weather I could get my money back or exchange the rifle for the correct one. Cabela's refused to refund my money and offered me 60% of the rifles cost if I wanted to swap it, the rifle wasn't even out of the plastic bag in the case. Overall it was cheaper to bring the rifle to another gun store in my home town and sell it/buy the proper firearm. Overall bad experience, also considering I spoke to a manager the day before this whole fiasco and they said they would take it back no problem. I don't think I will be purchasing firearms from Cabelas again...
Read moreSo I was in there a while back and let me tell you. I was greeted by John Frankl who was an ABSOLUTE gem very stand up guy pointed me right to the camping section. Then I ran into Austin (I think tucker was his last name) he was a very stand up guy that helped me find everything I needed! Pointed me over to firearms after and introduced me to the firearms guys and boy where they a hoot! Big Mike, Roger, Ben, Mat they were ALL fantastic they need a raise! The manager came over, Kyle, and had a pleasant talk with him he was amazing. I went to check out and Alex told me about some great deals on clothes so I HAD to go look at those of course! Brenda and Roxanne where wonderful! They had some fun banter with the fishing guys. I made my way back through hunting and cinder was awesome, I have to say though the shorter guy I forget his name in hunting he seemed disinterested. I finally got out of that amazing store and Rachel and Chloe ended finally checking me out and they were splendid. I live 3hours away and will FOR SURE return because of all these wonderful encounters! Keep up...
Read moreI was so disappointed in the service tonight. We drove 3 hours to purchase a new ice house and accessories, spending $1300 and we didn’t receive good service from anyone in the store. The initial sales representative was nice but very distracted and not knowledgeable about anything we asked about including the clothing. I would think that one would need to be knowledgeable about most of the items I. Their respective department. We then went to customer service with questions regarding something they didn’t have in stock that we wanted to order and the two people at the desk did not seem to be interested in helping us at all. Gave me the impression they were in the middle of something and we were just a bother. When we then went to check out the cashier was very unpleasant and obviously did not want to be there. I was just so unhappy when we left.....and we use our Cabela’s card for everything because we want to use our points on bigger purchases we make every year. Now, we question why we want to support a business where the staff is so disappointing. I pray they...
