I have been to two different akumin offices only to be turned away for both appointments. The first office in trinity, the staff was very nice, although they turned me away as well due to a miscommunication between them and advent health. I was told that I needed a special type of mammogram for which they did not have the proper equipment at that office so they referred me to the Hudson office. My appointment was today but on Friday a staff member called me to tell me that the order they received from advent was just for one side for an ultrasound and that she was going to call them to see about just getting both sides done. I never heard anything else from her. I showed up today for my appt only to be turned away again but this time the lady at the desk was not very friendly. She kept saying she left me a voicemail on Friday saying that they had to work out the order with advent and that it would take 3-5 days for it to be done so I guess she was calling to cancel my appointment. I never got that message or had a missed call so I told her that and she repeatedly said that she did call me. I was trying to be nice and was not accusing her of lying, I was just saying I didn't get that message. I asked her if we could call advent and see if they can give them the correct info they needed now and she just kept repeating the same thing over and over with that little hint of attitude like I'm just bothering her for being there and trying to be seen since this is the second appt that I had to take off work for only to get turned away. I ended up just leaving while she was still trying to tell me that she called me Friday. I'll find somewhere else to go and in the meantime, since akumin and advent health can't get their crap together, let's just hope there's...
Read moreLet me start off by saying how unbelievably welcoming and nice the staff was! The ladies at the front desk were super nice and we chatted for a few extra minutes about life besides being there for an MRI. They made me feel very welcome and relaxed. I am ridiculously claustrophobic, I chose to have the open MRI due to having a panic attack in a double wide MRI at another imaging place. This was so neat! The lady who did the MRI helped me up into the chair, and although I was a little uncomfortable still because the walls are right up against you, I was able to move my arms and head which made me feel at ease. She assured me that everything would be quick and simple and she would help let me know along the way how much time was left before it was over. They have a tv on playing cute animal videos and music playing to help distract from the noise, which isnât as loud and a normal MRI machine is. The only reason I wont give 5 stars is due to the billing aspect. If you have insurance, you must use it, there is no way around it. The cash price is $250 from being told that on the phone if you donât have insurance. So I was just a touch aggravated that I was forced into using the insurance because I am on an HMO they barely cover anything, I did wind up having to pay more than the cash price option. So with that being said, overall the place was wonderful to me, staff was exceptional! Now I know for future reference, when scheduling the next appointment simply tell them you donât have insurance and you could possibly wind up paying less out of pocket. Thank you again to the staff for helping me get...
Read moreI had to go there after their machine in Tampa was down for two days. This after being unable to get it done after going for my appointment at their Kennedy office.
I was told my appointment was at 4:45, when it turns out it was actually at 5pm. They pad the 15 minutes so you can show up to do paperwork. I understand that, but I'm a person who shows up a little early anyways, so I was there at 4:35, and I had no paperwork to do, since it had been done the day before.
At about 5:25 I called the phone number on their wall if you've been waiting more than 30 minutes. It directed me to someone else. I called that person, who was in her car, having already left. Her immediate response was that it wasn't 30 minutes. By the time we finished discussing that, it was 30 minutes, she had no information because she was in her car headed home. She promised to call in to the desk, and to determine what happened the next day and call me back. Tiffany never did call me back. I finally had to call her today. In the end, they were apparently running nearly an hour behind. I understand things like that happen, but when I went to the window to ask, they feigned ignorance, promised to see what was going on, but never let me know. A little communication would have gone a long way, but that broke down consistently across the whole process.
I won't...
