DEVICES MORE BROKEN AFTER REPAIRS! I took my daughter's iPad mini and iPod touch in to get repaired. Both screens were cracked due to dropping them. They worked perfectly prior to taking them to the store. Yes, it was cosmetic and had nothing to due with the functionality of the device...but they are girls and wanted new screens. When I arrived to the store, I was greeted with a multi-page legal document. Instead of the clerk explaining the form to me and what it entailed, he just asked for me to sign...I hastily signed it thinking it was an authorization to repair my devices. IT WASN'T! It was an "Unable to verify functionality" legal document stating that when they took in the devices, they were unable to verify whether they were operating properly or not. I gave the clerk the passwords for both devices, and they did not once attempt to see if they were working properly. So, essentially, the document is their way of saying that they will replace the cracked screen without any testing, what so ever.

My wife returned to the store to pick up the devices later that day and the clerk told her that he was unable to test the device because he didn't know the passwords. ( I gave the clerk the passwords for both devices when they were dropped off) Neither of the devices worked correctly. The forward facing camera on the iPad mini was only half working, like you were holding your finger over half of the camera. The screen on the iPad mini did not work properly either. When touched, an app from the other side of the screen would open. The screen also showed lines extending from the apps from top to bottom, and side to side. These issues were not present when the device was dropped off. It appeared as if the lines were burned into the screen and would not go away. The iPod touch had similar burn in images but not as bad, however, still needing the attention of a return visit to the store.

I dropped off the devices and received a call from the manager, Mark. He explained to me the document I signed said that even though they could not test the device, that i agreed to the repairs, despite the fact the clerks were able to test the devices for functionality when they did not. They now want an additional $189 for LED screen replacement for the iPad mini, and this was after he agreed to replace the glass touch screen (digitizer) on both devices due to being defective. He also said that the bracket that held the camera in place "must have come lose" causing the camera to move. I AM FURIOUS!!

I feel like i was taken advantage of. I had a 3 year old looking at every flashlight and gadget in the store, and i was unable to give my undue attention to a novel style legal paper. My kids even paid for the repairs with their own money out of their own bank accounts to take responsibility for their actions. They are 8 years old, and 10 years old.

There are signs all over the store saying they can fix cracked screens. I will not EVER take anything back to that business to have a cracked screen fixed, nor will I EVER do any business with Batteries Plus!

UPDATE: 06/23/2016 Picked the devices back up from the store after the store manager, Mark, said that he would replace the screens (digitizers) on both devices. The iPod touch seems fine, however, the iPod mini it still not right. The lines on the screen remain. This update is being posted after the store owner's response that the store manager would discuss this issue further. Funny thing is, the store manager had nothing to say to me when i picked them up other than "can i help you" and "here they are". Not much help after all. Ive got a call into the corporate office and a representative took my complaint. Ill update when I have more information. UPDATE: 06/23/2016 No help from corporate. The manager, Mark, apparently offered to give us back the broken glass previously replaced and issue a refund. Not a solution that I agreed to. Plus, since i signed the document, nothing can be done even if i can prove they didnt test it. Take your devices to an expert, not...

Took a perfectly functioning iPhone 6 in to have a cracked screen fixed. It was functioning fine but the cracks in the screen were irritating so wanted it repaired. Got the phone back and the earpiece and camera no longer worked. Tech told me it was because the phone was dropped before. "No, it was all working for weeks after dropping it." They opened it up and commented that "somehow" the ribbon inside had been cut! The tech stated he didn't even know how that happened, but blamed us! Well, we weren't the ones who had the phone opened up-- he was! Had to complain to the manager to not have to pay for the new ribbon. Cost us some $$$ anyway. Multiple returns with a screen that would stop working and we finally left with what appeared to be a functioning phone. Except about 1 week later the screen became unresponsive to touch yet again. My cellular provider people cringed when I told them where I had gone for repairs and stated that they had had multiple phones come in as disasters after Batteries Plus. Another repair service was recommended. They opened the phone and discovered that two screws and several clasps had been removed and not replaced internally so that the phone would work for a short period then screw up as the loose components inside shifted. Fixed for $20 plus tax. NEVER EVER GOING BACK TO BATTERIES PLUS for...

Had 2 phone screens replaced was told that it would be an hour per screen, we dropped them off at 3 with 1 phone repair ahead of us, we were told the phones would be ready at 6, we had an appointment at 6:30 we arrived at 6 and was told by the young man fixing the screen it would be just a few more minutes he was finishing up, when another customer came in he had to stop my repair to wait on the customer I was pissed there should have been another employee to wait on customers, after 2 more interruptions I finally got my phones at 6:45 , 1 of the phones worked great the other one would not connect to my network, since we were already late for our appointment the young man said he would fix it right away, I left the phone with him and went to drop off my husband and returned to the store before they closed at 7pm. I arrived about 7:10 The young man not only waited for me he also took time after closing instead of making me wait until the next day to repair another issue with the phone. I highly recommend the young man that does their repairs. But I have a definite problem with the management leaving the repair person that has scheduled work to do alone with no other employees to wait on other customers needs!! Poor management! Great...
