Been a member at the 2 rivers ymca for a while now and the experience has been up and down. Some of the employees here can be very rude and disrespectful depending on if they are having a bad day or not. But the biggest problem I have with this ymca is the their deliberate action to shut the basketball court down every single day. The court used to be shut down from 8am-11am for pickle ball or whatever the game is which is very inconvenient for someone like myself and others who come to the y to play basketball frequently ......all of a sudden they have decided to reserve the gym for this same game until 3pm Monday thru Friday ?! Basically shutting the gym down the entire day from other paying customers to use the court. Imo they are doing this to keep the kids out of the gym since school is out for winter break seeing as the ymca can't stand kids in particularly black kids. Which is a whole separate issue within itself. So now I can't use this ymca at all during the week unless I have the time to come later at night or early Sunday mornings meanwhile still paying a full membership fee. Only ymca I've ever been to where they are making conservative efforts to keep children out of the building. Make...
Read moreI love it here staff are always friendly and they greet me by name because I am there just about every day and the property is well maintained inside and out the gym is nice and roomy the atmosphere in there is also very friendly everybody keeps to themselves and are respectable to one another and if you need help a personal trainer is almost always there to help you and are very supportive no matter how much of a novice you are I started returning to the Y September of last year to lose weight and thanks to some of the employees and their kind words I'm almost down 100 pounds! I can't thank the Y enough for their help in achieving my health goals, however I do need to bring a few things up the two things they could improve on are enforcing certain rules on occasion I've seen children too young to be in the fitness center being a general nuisance and secondly people in the men's locker room need to practice modesty I can't stand it to many times do I have to see people's privates dangling about the rules are written for a reason! but I digress, I can't wait for...
Read moreThis y is a decent place to workout. The only problem is the handycap parking. I see people all the time parking in these places who do not appear handycap and don't have handycap placards or plates. I think the problem is that the markings in these areas aren't marked very well. On the south side of the building the paint is faded and the signage should be placed as so. One sign at each end and one sign in the middle of these two signs that say handycap parking between signs only. When it snows the markings on the ground are covered. Also people are dropping off kids and always parking in the handycap spots. Maybe if you gave parents the parking by the south west door and made more handycap parking on the south lot this would stop. Also if the Moline P.D. would drive through and check once in awhile that would help. I have gone to this y for awhile now and at different times a day and have never seen a Moline squad car in the lot. Please help the handycap Moline y and make your handycap parking better. I have told staff in person and have had no luck so...
