ALDI — Local services in East Peoria

Renovated and reopened with a whole new appearance inside. But it is not just about looks. Signs in the aisles help identify the location of specific groceries and goods, items are more logically grouped. Refrigerated items begin at the left rear of the store and wrap around the back and East wall ending in freezer items. Produce, both organic and non, is clearly labeled and nicely presented. Produce needing refrigeration to stay fresh is now organized neatly in an open cooling section, which should help Aldi reduce moldy produce that was too common and a real problem. Items such as bread/bakery is no longer on a square display but neatly presently along the wall in the first aisle. Frakkly the arrangement takes some getting used to and there are items that for whatever reason still seem out of place and difficult to find. Aldi has great prices, nearly always the lowest but other full grocery stores offer sale prices that are worth noting before going to Aldi. Aldi also lacks some items which hinder it from being a one stop grocery and brand selection is still limited. Aldi still has the fastest check out lines at ANY store and accuracy is nothing short of incredible; and the DO open extra checkout lanes the moment it's needed. Of course you still need a quarter to use a shopping cart and bring your own shopping bags or grab a empty box to bag your own groceries at checkout. Oh, don't forget to return your cart to get your quarter back. You will have saved a bucket load of cash on your groceries, so smile as you return the cart. Clean and well stocked. Outstanding customer experience. I had never visited this store location and didn't realize it existed until I drove by and noticed it by surprise. I am from out of town, so decided to stop in. I was excited to find they carry some items my regular Aldi store does not have, so then I completely lost track of time! I was wearing no watch and had left my phone in the car, so did not realize how late the time had gotten. After I checked out and got back into my car, only then did I see it was after their closing time. The staff was still working inside and I hadn't even realized that it was so late. I did not hear any closing announcement nor was anyone rude as I finished my shopping and checked out. I was treated as a customer should be even when I had unintentionally stayed beyond their closing time. Very impressed with this outstanding store...

Most of the products are comparable to name brands besides the cold cereals (sorry Aldis). This spring I started telling people to just pass it on while turning in my cart ( you know it's a quarter but you get it back ) and I've either been extremely lucky or its catching on I have not had to have a quarter but once since the last 8 visits.( to me this proves there are still kind and generous people around and we shop at Aldis ) I cannot complain on ANY other product and if you get something you feel is not as it should be no hassle return...
