I gave one star only because I had to, in order to leave a review. We applied for an apartment with credit that is not good but our finances met the criteria. We dealt with Bree and we asked if credit would be a factor but he said that it would not be, as long as we can afford the apartment. We waited for 7 days for a response and we were denied. We asked Bree, if we were denied, if we would be able to get our money refunded back to our card and he replied yes. Well after we were denied we were told that our money would be returned in a check within 30 days. We don’t have a problem with getting denied because we will eventually get something better and I believe that what is not for us then we will not get. What we do have a problem with is the lies that these big companies tell to get your money. Now, my wife confronted Bree about the lies that he told us and he denied all. This is not the way a reputable company is supposed to do business and definitely should not have anyone that represents your company that tells such lies to get $100 each ($200) application fee plus another $600 for a holding fee. I had a problem when we first walked in because I don't feel comfortable doing business with someone who's life is based on deceit but I dealt with him any way. So I will practice on paying attention to my first instinct in the future. We are now renting a townhome for less than the price on the apartment. Also, let's be clear, Bree is a Man,...
Read moreWe have lived here for about 3 1/2 months. We decided to move here mainly because of the convenience factor (the train for commuting into NYC is right across the street). However, that is just one of the pluses of living here. The complex is beautifully appointed and the upkeep and maintenance is excellent. There are many ammenities including a full gym, a huge courtyard with tons of tables and seating, as well as state-of-the-art grills for BBQs. They have a beautiful outdoor fireplace that is really nice to use during the colder weather. Probably the most important feauture for us was that they are extremely pet-friendly. We have a dog and Rutherford Station has it's own private dog park right on the grounds! I understand that the park will be getting a make-over soon so it will be even better for all the furry residents. The on-site staff here are amazing and truly care about the residents. They are constantly having special events as well as little treats in the lobby area for "just because." I cannot say enough about this community. If you are looking for a beautiful, modern apartment with a sense of family, look no further than...
Read moreThe apartment was fine, but I would not move here unless you are willing and able to hemorrhage money every month. Two days before we moved in we were told that our apartment on the second floor had been given away, but we would be able to sign up for another apartment on the fourth floor for the same price. At the end of the year they wanted to increase our rent by 16% to 56% depending on what renewal option we chose. The town of East Rutherford is capped at a 5.5% rent increase per year, but this building is exempted from that--something that was not written into our lease and we were not informed of. In this building you pay for everything - electricity, gas, water, sewer, trash fees, parking, a pet deposit and monthly pet fee. There is a $500 amenity fee per renewal which, again, is never mentioned until it hits your account. They don't care about retaining quiet, quality tenants who pay their rent on time; they just want to get the most money for each unit as they possibly can. I would recommend...
