INCIDENT# 1 MY FATHER GOT THERE ON FRI 2/7/25. HE FELL & BUSTED THE LEFT FRONT SIDE OF HIS HEAD ON SUN 2/9/25 AROUND 9PM (AROUND HIS EYEBROW) TRYING TO GO TO THE BATHROOM ON HIS OWN. HE HAD BEEN PRESSING THE BUTTON FOR A WHILE FOR SOMEONE TO COME HELP HIM GO TO THE BATHROOM. WHEN SOMEONE FINALLY CAME THEY TOLD HIM STOP PRESSING THE BUTTON. THEY LEFT SO FAST, HE DIDNT GET TO TELL THEM WHAT HE NEEDED. THEY NEVER EVEN ASKED WHAT HE NEEDED. HE HAD TO GO TO THE HOSPITAL. HE HAD TO GET THE OPENING GLUED SHUT. HE ALSO HAD A SWOLLEN BLACK EYE. NO ONE CALLED FROM THE FACILITY TO SAY THAT ANYTHING HAD HAPPENED. WE ONLY KNEW THAT SOMETHING HAPPENED BECAUSE A NURSE CALLED FROM THE HOSPITAL. UNACCEPTABLE !!!!!!!! I SPOKE WITH THE DIRECTOR OF NURSING, BELIEVE IT OR NOT NOTHING HAPPENED TO THE PARTIES INVOLVED. I WAS TOLD THAT DISCIPLINARY ACTION TOOK PLACE. SHE EVEN STOP RESPONDING TO ME WHEN I ASKED ABOUT AN INCIDENT REPORT. WHEN TALKING TO HER, SHE EVEN STATED THAT SHE DOESNT TRUST SOME OF THE STAFF THERE. IF THAT IS THE CASE, WHY ARE THESE PEOPLE WORKING THERE? INCIDENT #2 MY FATHER USED THE URINALS SOMETIMES TO HELP HIM FROM FALLING. THE URINALS WERE RARELY EMPTIED AND I FOUND MYSELF EMPTYING THEM EVERY TIME I VISITED. I SPOKE WITH THE DIRECTOR ABOUT THE ISSUE. THE ISSUE WAS FIXED FOR LIKE A DAY AND THEN IT WAS BACK TO THEM NOT BEING EMPTIED AGAIN.
MY FATHER HAD SO MANY DIFFERENT INCIDENTS THAT HAS OCCURRED SINCE HES BEEN AT THAT FACILITY.
THE REHABILITATION AREA HE WAS LOCATED IN ON THE 1ST FL, THE ROOMS WERE SHARED BY 2 PEOPLE. THE BATHROOM WAS SHARED BY 4 PEOPLE BECAUSE IT CONNECTED TO THE ROOM ON THE OTHER SIDE. THE BATHROOM WAS RARELY CLEANED. MOST TIMES I CAME TO VISIT MY DAD, THE BATHROOM SMELLED LIKE URINE.
THEY HAVE AGENCY STAFF THAT WORK THERE, NOT STAFF EMPLOYED BY THE FACILITY. MOST OF THE PEOPLE DONT CARE ABOUT THE PATIENTS. THERE WERE SOME GOOD NURSES (UDI- āTHE NICE NURSEā, MY FATHER CALLS HER, VERY NICE, APOLLO WAS COOL AS WELL) AND TECHS/AIDES/GNAS (CARRIE WAS GREAT & KATHY WAS GREAT). A LOT OF THE TECH/AIDES/GNA HAD BAD ATTITUDES. THE THERAPISTS DID THE BARE MINIMUM WITH HELPING HIM. THE SPEECH THERAPIST, THEY HAD GREAT CONVERSATION, BUT SHE WOULD TELL HIM THAT HE PASSED ON CERTAIN THINGS AND MY FATHER SAID THAT HE KNOW HE DIDNT. HE WANTED HER TO BE HONEST, NOT JUST PASS HIM. LAVERNE, THE ADMINISTRATOR SEEMED VERY NICE AND UNDERSTANDING TOWARDS THE END OF HIS STAY. I THOUGHT THE DIRECTOR OF NURSING WAS THE HEAD PERSON, BUT SHE IS NOT.
MY ONLY ADVICE FOR PEOPLE WHO HAVE LOVE ONES OR FRIENDS THERE, PLEASE CHECK ON THEM!!!!!!! THEY ACT TOTALLY DIFFERENT WHEN YOUR LOVE ONES...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI was a patient at Towson Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center. It was not a pleasant experience. For me it was a nightmare! The majority of the staff were okay but their response time varies from a few minutes to more than an hour. At night it was always noisy. The lights were left on and the TV was on 24/7 in one of the rooms I was in. People came and went all day and night. I couldn't sleep. I received no medications for over 24 hours when I first arrived including pain medicine 3 days after surgery. One weekend nurse, nurse R was very rude. He refused to tell me what medications I was getting, spoke over me when I tried to find out. He would not listen to me about how I was to take certain medications. I was not offered the opportunity to get cleaned up until the third day I was there and not given a basin to use. The rooms are too small for two people to share especially for people using walkers, crutches, or a wheelchair like myself. They could not be used properly to get in and out of bed or to use the toilet. In one of the rooms I was in the toilet was used by 4 people and smelled like a latrine all the time. I don't know how people can heal with the horrible food that was served! The food there was always over cooked and what was stated on the menu was not what was served and there were no choices about food. I met the occupational therapist and physical therapist which were alright but I got very little therapy while I was there for a week while be transferred to another facility.
I would not even give this...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreNursing aid Gerelle on the 11p-7a shift is the bomb! She's compassionate and really goes above & beyond for the patients she cares for. She's the best example of what a caretaker should be and I really appreciate EVERYTHING she did on every encounter with my loved one. The night shift is the only time I really knew my loved one was cared for at this facility as long as Gerelle was there. Gerelle, You Rock!
It's a shame that I can only say this about an individual employee, the overall facility is the WORST I would give ZERO stars if I could. My non-verbal loved one was here for months and I wouldn't ever suggest this place to anyone. They are always short staffed which delay patient care and permit long waiting periods for essential needs. When the staff finally do arrive, they have attitudes as though you're bothering them both nursing and aids. They ignore call bells, staff member huddling at the nursing station or in the TV room on their cell phones and having loud conversations (in which I've witnessed on several occasions) instead of assisting with patient needs. No need to express your concerns to the facility director, the nursing director, and the nursing supervisors, they do simply NOTHING but try to justify the unprofessionalism of the staff. I can go on and on about the encounters and experiences that I've had and could include pictures and all while my loved one was at this facility. If you're thinking about using this facility for your loved one especially if they are non-verbal,...
