The Brass Tap — Restaurant in Maryland

Went on 9/4/23 at 4:49 pm. When we first got there, nobody was at the front to assist us. Had waitress Mackenzie G. First of all the service we got was horrible. She was very friendly at first but after our first interaction it seemed like we were invisible to her. It took 30 minutes until she came to take our food order. She didn’t write it down. When we got our food, she messed up my girlfriend’s order, and never brought her the margarita she ordered. In the 2 hours we were there we saw the waitress 4 times (including getting our check, never came to check on us while we were eating). She was focused on every other table around us, standing by the line on her phone and talking to the cooks. It was busy so if she couldn’t be so attentive that would’ve been fair. But she was actively assisting every other table around us, completely ignoring us. She never even came past to ask if we wanted a refill of our drinks in the two plus hours we were there. After I ate my food, and my girlfriend sat there staring at her wrong order, the waitress never came by to check on us so sending her food back was never an option. We had to wave her down just for the check after sitting waiting for 30 minutes after I had finished my food. When she finally came back she completely forgot that my girlfriend even ordered a margarita. She did try to make it right by offering to bring out the correct food item and to cover the forgotten drink, but after being ignored for 2 hours we just wanted to leave. The restaurant was nice, and the food i ordered was good. But the service makes me not want to return. Unfortunate that I spend $50 just to sit around for 2 hours being ignored by the waitress. I never even got a refill of my Diet Coke and water. I feel like getting drink refills is the bare minimum. Probably...

I stop here occasionally after shopping today I did and don’t get me wrong it’s normally a good place but I didn’t like my experience today. I didn’t get a server until like 10 mins after sitting down the bartender got him for me and someone else gave me menus. And a white couple came in same time as me they sat down and got served immediately. My server comes up and not to be rude but he looks like he does drugs or was bitten by something all over his face and neck. Any who he takes my order food is good drink was great I was planning on getting more drinks after a long day but the server wasn’t coming by so when he did I asked for my check. I put my card in it immediately and I was gonna order my Uber, but he went to all his other tables and was chatting around for like an extra 10 + mins and I was frustrated because when he came back my Uber went up $5. I was literally watching him speak to tables directly across from me while waiting on him to take the card. And he had this device on him that takes your card right then and there. I also didn’t like how he could see exactly what I was tipping him because the device was in his hand I assumed I’d be signing. Regardless my bill was $25 I gave him like $6 something i was a server just this summer so I’m not gonna not tip but he didn’t deserve that at all and he needs to do better. Surprisingly (to me) I really liked this place. It does not seem like much when you walk up, just a pub style restaurant in a mall... but, the food was really top notch. I had lunch on a Saturday with my 8 year-old. Brass Tap was not overly busy, it was "seat yourself" and we had no issue getting a seat. There is an impressive wall of taps for dozens of draft beer, tho I did not partake on this day. Also, dozens of TVs with sports on them, not my bag, but maybe it is yours. There did not seem to be a kids menu that I could find, unfortunately, so I had to get the kiddo an adult plate (that she could not finish) of chicken tenders and fries. I was able to taste this since she did not eat it all and the chicken was crispy juicy and delicious. I usually will get fish and chips when I see it on a menu, it is a good way to judge a restaurant generally. However, the brisket grilled cheese caught my eye, and I am glad it did! It was DELICIOUS! Loaded with cheddar, pepper jack, pickled onion and jalapeno! The bread was perfectly toasted brioche and a tangy BBQ sauce. The fries were perfect, as well, hot and crispy crinkle cut fries! So good, and our server was great too. I loved the easy pay option with the handheld device, and we were out the door with no problem. I look forward to...
