As a customer, clear communication is really important to me, even more so when a service is hundreds of dollars.
While this place was running a $495+ tax special for remote starts this winter, we were quoted at $545+ tax, and ultimately paid $648. Why the discrepancy? This was for the most basic package available, which I had to insist on because Aric wanted to sell me something I didn't want or need.
Additionally I was told installation was a 5 hour process, but when I dropped off my car I was told 6 hours, but he'd give me an hour heads up. 5.5 hours into the appointment I went back to check on the status (I tried to call but every attempt gets sent to voicemail), and see my car sitting out front, finished.
I did ask for clarification on the price difference but was told $545 was an over the phone quote and he couldn't compute tax without knowing which package I wanted for sure. I'm not an expert here, but I'm not sure why package prices can't be plugged into a computer with tax added to allow for an accurate cost ahead of time?
His resolve after realizing I was unhappy was to offer a deal to friends/family if I send them in for a package. So to make up for me feeling overcharged, I should send him more business so he can give someone else a deal? Not following that logic.
