I first submitted my information to this company through their website. I received no response to that. I then called them twice to give my information. Each time I called, they told me I would hear from somebody in two to three days. I didn't receive a reply until I left a negative review.
By the time I heard from someone named Ed, I already had another company out to inspect the damage in my home. I told Ed I'd get back to him if it didn't work out with that company. That company didn't get back to me for me to pay them and provide the estimates.
I decided to try submitting my information for a project on Yelp. I received interest from one company. That company didn't call when they said they would, so it seemed like it was going to fall through with them. I called back Ed to set up a day and time to come out to visit.
I ended up hearing from the company that I found after submitting my project to Yelp, and it seemed like they were going to come through with the estimates I needed. I called Ed back to cancel our appointment because I didn't want him wasting his time coming if this other company was going to provide the estimates.
This other company wasn't calling when they said they would, getting back to me days later when I wasn't sure if I was ever going to hear from them again. I decided to call Ed to reschedule another appointment. This time he told me his boss didn't want to be involved with providing estimates if they're going to be used in a lawsuit. He referred me to another company, which didn't respond.
After getting the runaround from two other companies, Ed and AW Martin got rid of me by referring me to a company that also didn't want to get involved. If a company has a problem with their estimates being used in a lawsuit, that sends up a red flag for me. It's frustrating, but I'm quickly learning how to deal with contractors. Don't tell them what you intend to use their estimates for.
Fortunately, I've found a fifth company that I believe is going to provide the estimates I need. I was honest with them and told them why I needed the estimates, and they're even willing to appear in court to back up those estimates for a fee. In that case, I'm sure I can trust them, and their estimates will help me greatly...
Read moreI wanted to update that a week ago, I used aw Martin company once again for a smaller project on my basement which included some demo work taking down an old bathroom and getting rid of a bar, and also removing some old 50 year old floor tile which contained asbestos. Ultimately, the basement walls and floor were then waterproofed with 2 coats of drylok paint.Once again the team was led by project manager Christian and the on-site manager Kevin and his team. The crew checked with me all along the way to make sure I was pleased with the work that was being done. The reason I used them is they did a great job in renovating my kitchen a year ago and I know that the job would be done correctly and within the timeframe specified. Thank you once again for the excellent work on my basement mini renovation. I would not hesitate to use aw Martin in the future for any projects that I may have.
I recently had my 60+yr. old kitchen renovated, which included gutting the entire kitchen down to the bare walls initially as part of the entire process. Tony Martin and his team did an outstanding job. Tony and AJ, his project manager, came out initially and scoped the job in detail, gave suggestions, then provided a comprehensive proposal which laid out everything in detail. The price was reasonable but more importantly, I trusted them to do the job correctly. AW Martin has done a lot of work for the Arc Mercer, of which I am a Board member, and have seen their remodeling work first hand for group homes that were renovated to ultimately house special needs individuals. I knew that I could trust Tony and his team to do the job correctly and professionally. So now I'm enjoying my new kitchen every day and wished I did it sooner! Thank you to the owner, Tony Martin and his team, AJ, Kevin, Chris, Jacki, for a...
Read moreWe recently had a leak from our upstairs bathroom, which required the half of the dining room ceiling to be cut out and replaced, as well as the bathroom vanity and bathroom floor. Since this was our first time submitting a claim through our homeowners, we had no clue what we were doing. Our claims adjuster was "green" which unfortunately left us frustrated and questioning whether we made the right decision. It so happened that the plumber was here fixing our leak and when we told him what happened, he recommended A.W. Martin. From the moment I spoke with Spencer he put my mind at ease. I knew from our conversation that he had plenty of experience. He was ultra professional and dealt with our insurance company directly. On top of that, the crew that completed the remediation (Christian and Eric) were absolutely magnificent! They were personable, arrived the day & time we agreed upon, documented everything, and cleaned up after themselves. After all of the work was done my mom came to visit. She said "wow, they did such a great job! You can't even tell you had a leak!" From start to finish....so very happy :)...
