I visited Town Center Fine Wine-Spirits over Labor Day to pick up some beer. As I was checking out, the liquor store employee informed me they could not sell to me because my ID was expired (Iām 26). I was well aware as it recently expired, but renewals of licenses have been extended due to COVID and liquor stores are allowed to accept recently expired IDs. I understood and respected the storeās policy, however because I was already there I wanted to ask a few questions as I was hoping I could show a second form of ID or figure out another way to complete the purchase. At this point, a young man behind the counter (who was clearly not the owner) informed me very rudely that āit takes 15 minutes to renew a license onlineā, and that my expired license was a āYouā problem and not āhis problem.ā
The disdain with which the store employees treated me has guaranteed that I will never shop there again. There is a lovely liquor store about a minute down the street called Samās Uncorked where I will be taking my business in the future. I hope you...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI recommend shopping somewhere else! Stopped to buy a bottle of wine and a bottle of gin for our weekend at the Cape. My husband and I who are both in our 40s went in the store with our 14 year old daughter. We were told by the cashier - a young man- that he would not sell us the gin because my daughter was whispering to her father when he selected his gin, which he believed to be āparticipatingā in the sale. If my daughter was not welcome in the store, I would have liked to know that before wasting my time. It seems to me that the young man needs to be better educated on the laws. We were clearly not buying liquor for my daughter and his behavior was completely inappropriate. I suggest shopping for your wine/liquor at the store in Welfleet - the owner of that store was...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFirst day of vacation and my family stopped at this liquor store to grab beer for the week. The sign on the door says that minors cannot participate in a sale or carry any alcohol- which makes total sense! My 16 year old sister came into the store with us and didnāt say a single word, she simply didnāt want to sit in the hot car any longer.
We were then told that we couldnāt purchase any alcohol because we had been in the store ātoo longā (5 minutesā¦) and that she needs an ID. All three employees were VERY rude in explaining this to us. If minors are not allowed in the store, maybe they should update their sign to say so instead of accusing others of not following the rules (which we did). Iād suggest going to the Superette down the...
