If you are a local you know about the waterfall, I went recently and had my heart broken. The hidden gem that was a hot spot in the summer is no longer there.... This saddens me as it was a quintessential part of my childhood. This waterfall provided a small community of other locals that were looking to cool off, make some friends, all while staying safe/close to home AND not having to asking your parents for money three times a week lol I understand most people in this city aren't totally impoverished and can afford to visit their local pool every so often or maybe spare a few minutes to visit a open fire hydrant nearby 🤷🏻♀️ HOWEVER this was a beloved space that gave children a "secret" Oasis, a place to escape. Most fishers even avoided fishing near the waterfall as it was a known hot spot for children and families alike. I also strongly believe that Karl would've wanted to keep the waterfall there as he was a man dedicated to bringing the community together through shared experiences and interactions. God rest his soul. Bring this community back their watering hole 😂💪🏻. #nevertolate

The surprisingly relaxing ambience (considering the highway) gives you a new life and if your an artist you will soon feel inspired after taking a stroll through this trail. I highly suggest walking the entire thing start from...

The meditation labyrinth and Qi gong exercise stations were pleasant surprises. Since this is an urban walking trail, the traffic noise was very prominent. In the way back to our car, we took the nature trail, which was a nice little diversion. We're hoping that the trail that goes into the city (by the Lafayette campus) continues to add more art and more...
Read moreIt was very confusing to find exactly where the trail was, so that was kind of annoying. There were different addresses in different websites. The art wasn't really anything to write home to. The trail itself is beautiful, there is a point where you have the option to come off the paved trail and you're walking on a path near the river, that was beautiful. And you eventually loop back onto the paved trail. Only downside is that the highway is right next to you so you're hearing all the sounds of traffic...
