Fantastic find! Came in after an appointment downtown, the display case of meats and sausages caught my eye. Was waited on very quickly, but explained I was only browsing. Did my tour of the farmers market and quickly boomeranged back to Mangia Carne. So glad I did! The young guy who waited on me was super friendly and super helpful. Explained to me the history of MC, and touted the talents of the chef Luca. Had a good conversation with him and ended up getting me and my bride the rolled chicken spinach mozzarella, the dill potato salad and some slaw...to go. To cook later, which they also had recommendations for! Ok, so now 4 hours later, I am fat and happy. This was a gourmet meal that I brought home with me. Quite possibly, the tastiest, freshest chicken entree I've ever had. While I was checking out, they put a chicken cutlet panini on the counter for pickup. AND THAT LOOKED GREAT TOO! Had to take a pic.
So, my only recommendation would be...you got bios of the chef and the owner. I think the young guy who sold me needs a place on your website....he is good.
I'm having the son and his girlfriend up for dinner this weekend. I'm coming back. Just need to decide on a repeat of THIS fantastic meal or pick up a nice strip or porterhouse steak instead.
Keep.up the great.work folks. You...
Read moreA few days ago, I visited Easton with my Queen and friends, and we stopped at a charming little market. The first store we encountered was MANGIA CARNE. It was lunchtime, so we ordered a selection of food: a board of Italian charcuterie and cheeses, along with various sandwiches. For me, the mortadella sandwich stood out as exceptional, but the rest of the group favored the freshly made homemade PORCHETTA and the ROAST BEEF sandwiches-all crafted by the master chef and owner, Luca Manfè, the MasterChef winner. The store also offers a wide variety of products on its shelves, including pastas, hot sauces, salads, dressings, and more. However, if you visit, do not leave without purchasing their meat, as they exclusively sell USDA PRIME cuts. For any meat lover, this is truly a destination not to be missed. Though it may sound like an advertisement, I assure you it is not. I can confidently say I enjoyed the best sandwiches I have ever tasted, with sublime quality and authentic Italian excellence. Thank you, Luca, for sharing your culinary expertise with us. We will certainly be back-again...
Read moreCurrently finished the Grandpa Joe which was not only delicious but also gargantuan in size. Really could be 2-3 meals. I love this place - for me standouts are the Roma (porcetta) and the Bologna (mortadella) paninis, though I haven’t tried everything.
It’s also nice that you can swing by and pick up excellent meat, sausages, cheeses etc. They carry Lioni mozzarella and burrata which to me is the best stuff you can get.
Watch out for the specials Luca puts out as well - I brought home the rigatoni with ox tail which was incredible and not something easy to find nor easy to make yourself (and it wouldn’t turn out half as good)
You always know here that every ingredient going into the food is going to be top quality and you can taste and feel it afterword. And when you consider how much food you’re getting, the prices are more...
