Today was my last visit. I went early because I know they tend to be slow. The worker took my order, a man walked in and she started his order, he mentioned me and she commented, she’s good. A gentleman came from behind the counter that clearly works there. I spoke up and ask about my order, the worker responded she was working on an order that was pre-ordered, the gentleman behind the counter offered me a card so that I could next time call my order in instead of having to come in and wait for it. I declined. They started my order and you could tell by the workers’s face. She was upset. She hurried making my Matcha latte. I ask if she put lavender in it which she had not, she then added it, grabbed my scone and asked if I wanted it heated up I said no she gave it to me I told them I would not be back and the man responded, That’s fine. I pushed the door open however it must’ve got stuck because I heard the man yell and thank you for shutting the door. They were probably uptight because I said that I wouldn’t be back. I have been in there before where they have made me wait and wait and wait. I have been there before where they screwed up my order and I get that people make mistakes but it just seems like there could possibly be discrimination there, but I don’t like to throw out the color card. The scone was very good as was the Matcha latte however, service at 8 o’clock in the morning was poor and although I will miss it, I will not patronize that...
Read moreTheir coffee is usually ok, the food is fine as well. I just wont ever understand their $5 minimum when using a credit/debit card. I ended up leaving today without getting my coffee ($2.79) and spending $5 at FieldStone (GLADLY) for a latte creation that was delightful. Why in the world would a business turn away local paying customers because they want to force a person to spend $5? Its a shady revenue pulling tactic and it's really uncool. Im sure the owner probably thinks that there is a legal standing for minimum charges on 'plastic' transactions but it differs between credit cards and debit card payments, a quick google search can easily show that. Legally "a merchants agreement with card processing networks prohibits them from setting a minimum purchase amount for debit card transactions" So my debit payment should have been accepted... Anyway. Having a minimum charge really screws with people who just want their morning coffee and don't carry cash. Plastic payment had gotten so big that our government is considering new laws that prohibit "credit/debit only" estsblishments. A $5 minimum is an atrocious, deceptive and frankly, stupid way of doing business. Especially when you're located next door to a market that sells....coffee and baked good but doesnt have...
Read moreOrdered food and after I sat down an employee let me know that they were out of tofu and I had to order something different. They were also out of my second choice. So I went with my third choice and a few minutes after I sat back down, the girl called me up to the register again to tell me I had to pay the difference for the new order. It was $1. At that point I was very annoyed and wanted to leave so I got a refund. Any other place would’ve just comped the difference. A lot of food places will take it further and give you an extra free drink, treat etc as an apology if they run out of an ingredient or screw up your order. It’s customer service. I will not be coming here again because of how incredibly stingy they are. You can’t afford $1 to keep a customer??? When I’ve come here in the past they’ve also forgotten to give me parts of my order and they take FOREVER to make anything. I like the food but it’s not worth the stress of dealing with...
