Came here on a Saturday night about an hour and a half before they closed. WOW!!! I am so happy I came here! The atmosphere is so charming. The calamari was some of the best I’ve ever had. We got it with marinara sauce instead of cocktail sauce and that was a great choice. The chicken Parmesan was the best I’ve had around Detroit so far. I was blown away. The bread was warm, the house wine was yummy, and the sauce was perfect. I was a little less impressed by the pizza, but I’m still glad I tried it. (I just think the dough could use a bit more salt). The chicken noodle soup was also good as a side - it looks plain but the flavor was really good. Overall this was a GREAT dining experience and it really hit the spot without breaking the bank :) everything together was $45.

1/1/19, 11-17-18 added 📷...Hidden Treasure...I drove by this restaurant for years thinking it was either a banquet or catering only business being that their is no door on Gratiot. After my wife convinced me to investigate further we found a Jewel in the area. Family owned since the 50's, Wonderful authentic Italian food, hit or miss wait staff...but have never had a meal that didn't exceed our expectations. Has 1 of the best deep-dish pizzas in Metro-Detroit...Come way EARLY for special holidays. Please give a thumbs up 👍 if this review helps you - thanks

Really enjoyed our time here. The service was attentive, pleasant and friendly. The dinning area feels personal but spacious. Their in-house salad dressing is hands down the best dressing I have ever had and will purchase some to have at home. It is well worth it. Overall the food we had was good. I had to add a little salt to some of the dishes but I was completely satisfied with all that we tried and would order them again, although I want to try the pizza next time. We look forward to our next visit.

Great food, but they’re stingy with it, which I find off-putting. I’ve never been to an Italian restaurant, ordered an antipasto salad, and ended up with a mound of iceberg lettuce, two strips of salami and two strips of cheese. I thought it was mistake, asked our server and she informed me that, nope, that’s the antipasto. They’re aren’t permitted to put any more than what was in front of me unless we’re charged extra. I just read another review here where someone paid for a high-priced drink then couldn’t taste any alcohol.

Can’t do that to people, and expect them to come back. They’ve been around a long time, and have their regulars, of course, but for people who are either new or only visit once in awhile? It’s just not what you do.

One time, awhile back, my mom and I went to a new Middle Eastern restaurant we’d been meaning to try. We got an order of hummus, and they brought it out with no pita. So we’re waiting, and waiting, and when our server finally wandered over, I let her know that we were still waiting on pita for our hummus. She was confused, as we hadn’t ordered any pita. We were stunned to discover that pita, or any kind of bread at all, did not come with the hummus! That’s.. like… unheard of. What are we supposed to do? Eat it with a spoon? So we ordered a side of friggin pita, waited, and received PRECISELY two triangles of pita each. We never went there again.

Save money in other ways, in other areas, not at the expense of your customers. Don’t skimp on food, and cheat people out of the meal they came for. That is just so… no. Especially these days at these prices. A customer should never feel like they’re helping you pay your electric bill.

C’mon, Villa. What’re...

Here's my review on groupon after going to eat twice using our groupon:

The food is excellent! The service is not good! My fiance and I went on December 4th with her parents and on December 18th with my mother and step-father. We had the same waitress both times. She has no personality and dropped a fork (I believe on purpose) on my future father-in-law because he asked her for a takeout container. Everytime you asked her for anything she appeared to have an attitude. Also, my fiance asked for a takeout cup for a non-alcoholic strawberry daiquiri and the waitress stated that the restaurant didn't carry any takeout cups. My fiance had to ask two other waitresses and finally received a takeout cup. This was the second time and the only time we will go there to eat again unless it's for a carryout. The food is so good!!!!

Villa's response: Sorry you did not like your service. But she was correct in telling you about the carry out cup,, we don't give carry out cups you were given a child's drink cup. I am glad that you like our food.

My response: Wow! I'm sorry but a child's cup would have been sufficient for my fiance to take her drink to go. Also, I informed Villa on the groupon review that the waitress was rude and no action was taken and didn't address my concern regarding the issue of the waitress being rude! I'm...

This was our first time at Villa Restaurant in the almost 40 years it's been open. Pleasant surprised as the inside was beautiful, great atmosphere and the feel was very Italian. We had been looking for another Italian restaurant since Juliano's closed their doors.

We were greeted by Isabelle. She was awesome! Polite, very customer service oriented, professional and took care of our every need. No asking for refills, etc as she was spot on.

We arrived in the nick of time as once we were seated the restaurant filled up quick and then had a waiting line.

I ordered a pizza with pepperoni and mushrooms and dad ordered a Antipasto salad. Both were delicious and prepared as ordered. Their crust was very unusual, crispy as it almost looked deep fried but it's wasn't.

We finished our meals and enjoyed a cup of coffee which was great way to finishing a good meal.

We were offered dessert but we passed. Maybe next time. Would highly recommend coming here as we definitely be back.

Ample parking as their lot us West of the building and entrance is in the rear of the building. Can accommodate larger parties and have a complete menu of all your Italian favorites and complete wine list and other adult beverages

They accept cash, credit card, debit cards Handicap accessible from parking, door and tables. Mask are encouraged to help...
