UPDATE: After being in and out of Bond Vet, thousands of dollars, and testing we identified the cause for concern: cancer. However, the manner in which some of the staff (different from those we usually saw) handled the situation was cold and unprofessional. First and foremost, one of the receptionist was almost giddy when the results were negative (as in bad) and excitedly texted a specialist to review Ramesses. After the specialist saw him, biopsied him, it took a long time to receive a response on the results. We had to keep calling. Finally when they received results it took longer for Dr Ordonez to get back to us and I had to consistently call reminding them I needed an update. When we saw her in person she gave us hard news in the lobby instead of taking us to a room. People coming for appointments seeing me cry was humiliating. Lastly, she delivered the news and went straight to offer palliative / hospice care. Though her email was thorough and informative every phone and in-person interactions was so cold & hurried. Thankfully, despite the late staging (stage 4-5 cancer) and delays in replies from the team I quickly found an oncologist and Ramesses is healthy and in remission for 2-3 months now. In situations like these time is of the essence because they decline in health quickly. When it truly mattered I felt like another dollar sign to them and I’m so disappointed. I still leave 2 stars vs one because of Dr Weisberg and Dr Bortz as well as other staff at bond vet were good when we were trying to figure out what was wrong. All in all, I’ll be looking for another primary to see Remy.
Original review: My dog-child has had a rough two months and has been in and out of Bond Vet Edgewater. He's primarily been seen by Dr. Weisberg and Dr. Bortz. They've been empathetic, caring, and patient with us and have treated my doggie with the upmost love and attention. Everyone at the vet, from sign in to check out, has been attentive and kind....
Read moreAs a former veterinary technician of 25 years, I have very high standards for the quality of medical care that my pets receive. As luck would have it, my cat became sick on a recent Saturday night two days before I was set to fly out internationally.
I was so relieved to be offered the option of booking an appointment at Bond Vet- Edgewater directly on their website for the very next morning. It is a true rarity to find a general practice veterinarian that offers next day appointments, and almost unheard of to find an office that is open on a Sunday in this area(with a parking lot I might add)!
From the moment I walked in to the immaculate lobby with my cat, it did not take me long to recognize how truly special this hospital and their assembled team is. Jo, the lead Care Coordinator, instantly treated me like a friend. The incomparably kind and knowledgeable Dr. Bortz guided me through my cat’s illness and answered all of my nervous cat mom questions with understanding and patience. The highly skilled veterinary nurses and assistants are masters at drawing blood and handling nervous pets with compassion.
On top of the excellent care I received, Jo was able to submit my cat’s Trupanion insurance claim at check-out as a direct payment to the hospital!
I can say with every confidence that I’ve found my forever vet at Bond...
Read moreI’ve been to BondVet before with my puppy, but recently I had to bring our 14 year old senior family dog, Yogi, to be euthanized after a major decline in his health. I want to thank the staff from the bottom of my heart for the way they treated us during one of the saddest days of our lives.
From the receptionist to the assistants to the doctors, every single person showed us kindness, grace, and compassion. They took the time to explain everything clearly, walked us through the process with patience, and most importantly, never made us feel rushed. They gave us the time we needed to say goodbye, and that meant the world to us.
You never forget kindness when you’re in your toughest moments, and the team here made an unbearable day feel just a little lighter. Everything went as smoothly as it possibly could have, even better than I expected, and I’m eternally grateful for the care they showed to both Yogi and my family.
I can only imagine being a veterinarian is not an easy job, and I truly admire and appreciate the compassion they bring to it every day. If you’re looking for a sign to bring your pet here whether it’s for general care or end-of-life care please do it. You are in such good hands. Thank you, BondVet, for helping us through such a difficult goodbye with...
