Several years ago, I walked into a shop, and it actually took my breath away. I had to stand there for about a minute and just look…look high, look low, look all around. The shop was The Cottage Rose of Edinboro. I could not get over how beautiful this shop was. There was something meticulously placed in every corner from top to bottom. Such beautiful displays of both antiques and new products nestled into vignettes all over the shop. As I made my way into the store, I was greeted by the owner, Gina. She was so friendly and welcoming! I can’t tell you how long I was in that shop the first time, but I can tell you, I went around and around several times…each time finding something new. As someone who loves to decorate, I can tell you that I was blown away by the attention to detail and clever ways Gina displayed her products. We talked for a long time on my first visit; Gina told me about the history of the building and how she and her husband, David, transformed it into what it is today. Even the bathroom was to die for! The next time I came to the shop, I brought my daughter with me. She likes to decorate as well and I kept telling her she has to see this place, it is unlike anything around! Well, the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree, and she was also in love with the shop. She actually said she wanted to live there! I can tell you that as beautiful of a shop this is, it is not only the beauty of the shop, but the owners that are really the cherry on top. Gina and David quickly became our friends. They both are so warm and genuine and really care about YOU. They treat you like friends and it is very apparent as I always hear people laughing and talking when I visit. They really make it a point to get to know their clients. They make such a great team and work so well together. Remember when I said my daughter wished she could live there? Well, turns out you can…almost. Gina and David have worked their magic yet again with the opening of their Airbnb, Edgewater Escape. It is located in Edinboro, right along the lake. We were blessed enough to spend a weekend getaway at Edgewater Escape to celebrate a birthday/anniversary. This cottage is an absolute dream, a true home away from home! It is decorated with as careful attention to detail, just as their shop. Each room is exquisitely decorated with cozy accents that make you feel like you are wrapped in a hug. Every inch has been interictally thought out. The main suite is upstairs on the second floor; a very spacious bedroom with a stunning bathroom. The shower is AMAZING! There are also three other bedrooms and an additional full bathroom. There is definitely space for everyone, whether your party is large or small! Gina and David have thought of everything, they even have charging stations next to the beds and heated beds on the lower level. And I didn’t even get to the outside! They have canoes, a fire pit with chairs, a deck with a table and chairs and so much more. All this to say, you would be missing out if you did not visit The Cottage Rose of Edinboro. If you ever get the chance to stay at Edgewater Escape, you would not be disappointed. Both are very special, and the owners are...
Read moreWhat a great find! My husband & I were traversing Edinboro when we stumbled upon The Cottage Rose. I'm pretty sure I was speechless upon entering as i glanced around at how beautiful the store presented itself. I then realized how well curated every inch of the store had been carefully designed. I thought to myself, I must know who created this space. Then i met Gina, the owner, and she told me she was responsible for the creation. I told her many times over how beautiful the store was and how impressed I was, as if I was an interior designer myself. I'm not. But I appreciate beauty and attention to detail. Gina is not only lovely, but she is a master at her craft. You must check out this store! If you're looking for a perfect gift for someone, or a gift to treat yourself with, do yourself a favor and visit The Cottage Rose. Even if you don't find something, you'll feel good about yourself just visiting and you'll leave with a smile.
Bravo Gina & David for what...
Read moreEveryone who visits our house says something like "great bones." Translation ... "you need to decorate this space." Until this past year, I had no more than a leather sofa and a 15-year-old dining room set. Then I met Gina. The Cottage Rose is a wonderful shop to buy everything from smaller home décor items to large furniture pieces all presented beautifully, but Gina's true talent is pulling it all together. The Cottage Rose offers interior design at a reasonable cost. With Gina's help (and patience) we turned our great room into a beautifully decorated space. She listened to our ideas, fulfilled all our requests, connected us with local vendors and added unique touches that fit our lifestyle. Her hourly rate will pay for itself with her bargain shopping and repurposing skills. The sideboard pictured in this post was a garage sale item that Gina painted. It is unique, functional and...
